The fee should be 0% for everyone. THat's the sweetener - 0% until the end of the year. Are you sure you're paying more? If so I'll take it up with Adam.

CipherMine is paying 2% though, so subsidising this.

In my profile it says 1.5% fee, not sure if it is active tho...

The fee is currently disabled for all SHA-256 coins.  If you look in the block payouts you can see all the fees set to 0.

Nice idea, shame about the humongous bugs in p2pool that means it doesn't work with most ASICs.

If it weren't relying on p2pool I'd be all over it like a rash.  As it is, I'm done with p2pool.

If it weren't relying on p2pool I'd be all over it like a rash.  As it is, I'm done with p2pool.

As far as I'm aware, p2pool does work with most ASICs, except for ones that use an internal stratum proxy (block erupter blades, I believe).

If you're referring to the other issues some ASICs had with p2pool, from what I've read it was a case of poor programming with the ASICS and was worked around by increasing the p2pool sharechain block time to 30 seconds.

That said, as soon as we have the hashrate to mine BTC on our own and find an average of 1 block per day, we'll switch back to Stratum.  In the meantime the profits from switching to the altcoins have more than made up for any perceived inefficiencies in P2pool.

Hello all,

I was mining over at Eligius with my Jupiter - runs stable at 535GH/s (one die issue means can't reach 550+).

The 535GH/s is what the KnC GUI client and gcminer output says.

I have been using multipool for my srcypt coins and decided to give it a go with my Jupiter

I plugged in the multipool mining details and my Jupiter GUI client and cgminer output will not go above 505GH/s

So i reverted to Eligius, and lo and behold, back at 535GH/s…

Any ideas as to why? Or how to get it to mine at 535GH/s on multipool?

During this period we were mining TRC and ZET if that helps...

I'd love to support this effort, but bfgminer and cgminer both accept work reeeallly slowly.  I'm only a couple of months into mining, and the learning curve is pretty steep.  I've been all over the forums and the mention of p2pool and asics/block erupters not getting along is the only reason I have come across that might explain this behavior.  Btcguild mines quite consistently with my setup, switching to Multipool slows it all down.  I've been forced to use Tompool, which also mines quite consistently.  I love multipool for scrypt work though, very smooth.

I have 10 sapphire block erupters, and am using Minepeon with bfgminer.

If I could overcome this hurdle I'd switch over in a minute.

As far as I can tell the blades are very similar to the sapphires, using similar chips, is that true?

We're discussing moving the BTC port to a regular stratum instance but if we do that we're going to need a lot of support from miners to get the hashrate up to 30+TH so that we can average a block every 24H or so.

I think your statistics page has some human error. When I click "your stats" it shows me the "pool stats", and vice versa. I believe you swapped either CSS or HTML with both frames.

Thanks for the info flound.  I was hoping to mine multi in SHA though.

I was watching one of the "12 days of Bitcoin" reports and one of the anchors asked why use bitcoin.  One of the answers was "it's a community".  I've enjoyed Multipool for scrypt and would like to direct all my business to Multipool.  To keep it "in the community" of Multipool.  That's why I turn on my donation mining - I'd like to see Multipool stick around and I'm willing to do my part to see that happen.

I also like the website, very tidy, pretty intuitive and easy to use.  Overall has made my crypto experience a good one.

While on the subject of ASICs and this pool, am I missing something?  Should I keep looking for a solution to slow acceptance of work or will I find something different if I try mining SHA on Multipool again?

We'll still be multimining.  I'm just talking about whether the BTC port will point at p2pool or to our own stratum instance.

I mine all kind of different coins on multipool >auto profit switch and get 0.03 btc worth of coins in 24hrs so this is no go for me.

Quick update since I haven't been on bitcointalk lately - we have moved to proxying to cex.io/ghash.io for our BTC hashpower and we've broken 100TH of SHA-256 mining power.

We are about 1% of cex.io's hashpower now and paying out NMC, DVC and IXC as well on the Bitcoin port.

It would be really great if you could get together with mmpool.org which merge mines more coins than ghash and would help distribute hashing power better.
