i have always seen ETH as the next BTC. its users are increasing by the day. people feel much comfortable trading alts with ETH. Huge and real projects using Ethereum -based smart contracts. it's very possible ETH will touch and pass $2500 this year. Not worried about the little shake. I agree with this statement and prediction, is possible for ETH to reach that price before end of this years.  Could be in next 4 or 5 month the price will reach that. I hope this but to be honest I do not think it will unless bitcoins price price also skyrocketed in the end of the year.

Here is why.

With the current circulation* price of Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Ethereum 99,196,405 * $2,500 = $247,991,012,500 < that will be its market cap if speculation is true
Bitcoin      17,012,175 *$9,270 = $157,702,862,250 < Market cap today

Will Ethereum take over Bitcoin this year I do not think so.

Here I think what could happen
Ethereum will reach $2,500 but Bitcoin will be more than $20,000.
Ethereum will just reach old All time High and so as Bitcoin.

It all depends on what the market cap will by by year end and also what other coins are doing. Thinking of EOS and TRON getting their mainnet launches in June, so that might put a small damper on Ethereum, but then again Ethereum has first mover advantages but other new blockchains coming up have scalability and very fast transactions. So it depends on both marketcap and marketshare coming from newer blockchains that will determine what the Eth price will end up at. I would love to see it go to 2k and all my ERC20 tokens explode with it. Let's see and we can look back at this thread then.

No exaggeration if predicting ethereum would be $ 2500. But now another altcoin like neo is also beginning to enter the competition. So I think ethereum will grow this year even though it does not arrive at $ 2500.
