I think Scotland has lost loads of cash  ..
Black market booze   drive to Newcastle fill up boot full of cheap booze and sell in Scotland creating a
black market plus gangsters selling black market booze ..

Also many wont go clubbing because to expensive to go out ..

Islam countries don't drink  and because of this action no wasted monies so less revenue
If people drink and go out they eat now lets break down what you loose ..

less taxi use 
less alcohol use
less restaurant use
less night club use
less pub use
less off licence use
less fast food use

Now when people are drunk they will use all above in abundance   Now if no drink or way to high cost
you will loose quite a lot business and many jobs will be lost   THEN because less employment you just created more drinkers drug takers than before   THEN the gangs step in and sell cheap booze to local shops clubs and what not and the people on the streets   creating a worse society than you did before..

Also those that want to buy cider will now rob to buy it   or do some crime to pay for it..

4.99 per bottle   now 11.99 per bottle      so go to France buy cheap booze and sell in Scotland for cheaper ..

Now if you own a night club   you will now make a packet ..

It won't affect most people. If you are consuming something of decent quality like a nice single malt you are already paying more than 50p per unit. It will mostly affect the problem drinkers who look to get the maximum amount of alcohol for each penny spent. If might encourage those people to move to England.

I think the policy is likely to sober up some of the heaviest drinkers. But, it may also give some drinks firms and retailers reason to celebrate.

This strategy has never worked in the past, and I have no reason to believe that it'll work this time. For example, if a bottle of vodka costs £15 in Scotland and £5 in England, then the guys will just travel to England and bring 12-24 bottles with them back to Scotland at a time. In the end, the Scottish government will lose tax money.
