I have one Block Erupter Blade, bought it about 3-4 weeks ago and I am currently at about 70% of ROI not including increased resale value. I managed to buy one for $240 before they shot up in price. I average about .008 BTC/day mining on Slush's pool. This will decrease over time as pool hashrate grows.

If you are willing to wait up to 12 months to make back your money, by all means, get started! Just keep in mind it will take some time to make back your investment, I would consider myself lucky for hitting ROI in 4-5 weeks. I would like to expand my mining but I am currently holding off to see if new hardware releases, etc. affect prices of current hardware before I invest more. Just be strategic with it!

Yes, they are getting more expensive. 15 days ago they were 330, now they are 400 US$ in http://bitcoinminerz.com
If all go well, I may buy a Prospero X-1 in march, is just a hobby and a little extra income.

I was just on black arrows website, one cannot buy just one of the X-1, the starting quantity is 20. I'm going to contact them about that.

Subject: X-1 pricing and quantity

Is there any consideration to allow smaller quantities for purchasing the X-1. Your X-1 would allow for beginners to enter the world of bitcoin mining for a reasonable price but having a minimum purchase of 10 ends up pushing beginners to the ASICminer erupters.

You have the opportunity to do something big for the bitcoin market, and I don't doubt you already have pre-orders for 10+ of the X-1, but I would guess you could be bigger with a smaller minimum.

Also on another note, I would like to become a reseller for the X-1 and X-3. What are your requirements for this.

Thank you,
Michael Hopwood

Don't forget to factor in difficulty doubling every 4 - 6 weeks - you'll probably find that you won't make back it's current BTC value. But, if you are paying for it with $ or €, it's probably still worth doing assuming that BTC continues to appreciate in value.

Just don't do what I did and bought a USB block erupter for 0.9BTC which has made me back 0.3BTC and now earns dust. I should have paid the $90 at the time and kept the 0.9 and I would have tripled my money.

If you think that BTC will continue to rise and it's easy for you to buy and sell BTC then just buy the BTC - it's less risky. If it's not so easy to buy and sell BTC then mining is an option albeit very risky.

Got my blade last week, its mining fine at 10400Mhs, more or less 5 to 6 US$ per day. I made a custom box with 2 8cm fans, the heatsink is cool but the back is too hot to touch.

I needed a mining proxy from slush.

Many thanks for all the info.

How is your mining going Michael?

Alt coin mining is still profitable with all class of mining rigs.

Mine some beginner coins, wait and sell it for profitable bitcoins.

That is what I am doing now, I am configuring my proxy server and have it balance between a few alt pools
