Temperature in east coast approaching 80-85 degree. What does everyone suggest to maintain the rig. I see GPUs throttling. Thanks

Ran 40+ cards in an apt last year.   At one point it was 117F inside.

The only decent solution I found for my personal situation was to put them all in my bedroom and close the door and exhaust out the window with a 1250CFM fan.   (Also cut a large square out of the bottom of the door for an intake, it was ugly. )

It worked, but it wasn't ideal to give up my bedroom for the whole summer.   Lived in the living room and barely ever went in the bedroom.

Another idea would be a grow tent or build a small room out of 2x4's and wrap it in poly film and exhaust out the window.

You are going to cook alive if you are in that room with that many cards running in the summer.

What you need is to come up with a way to get a large amount of airflow exhausting all of that heat. You will need a fan sized to your window to blow the hot air outside and ideally have a window opposite it to draw in fresh cool air. Even with good airflow with 20 GPUs in only a 300 Sq ft room you will probably still be sitting around 10-20 degrees above ambient temperatures.

First of all, you should live in a country when temperature are not the one on mars... Oh wait, you live in the ONLY major country in the world that use fareneight instead of the standard and scientific celsius :p
I have personaly no idea what 80-85°F is in celsius and wont bother to do the conversion but I suppose it's hot so all you have to do is an air tunnel. Evacuate the hot air, nothing much else you can do (do not use AC, it might actualy be worse than good in the long term thanks to condensation)

I got good exhaust ventilation. I'll mine zcoin it mines 10 degrees cooler than other coins. If it's extremely hot 90 degree plus I'll turn off my mining rigs at peak hours and spare the longevity of my equipment.

first off  get a rack  like this

Lower placed intake and high placed outtake fans are best for cooling.

I'm encountering the same issue.

Like others have said, intake and outtake fans are pretty key.  Not sure what your exact setup looks like, but placing the GPUs the right way is super essential as well. Make sure the heatsinks have enough room to suck in cool air and are not blowing hot air directly at another card etc. Rig layout is very big when it comes to heat management, I see a lot of people on here with setups that are pretty poorly thought out.

make it wrap around the rack.

place it close to the open window

blow air at it.  all air should go out of the window.

under 150 to build it correctly.

Since the foil is four feet and the rack is 14 to 18 inches you have space from the window.

all hot air  stays in the heat tunnel if you make it correctly.

a variation is right here.

Thanks everyone for help. I went back to apartment and excluded 3 guys from mining. Will probably write script to run half of the gpus during peak day hours. I have good air circulation as windows are very large. Also started a fan pointing to the rig.

I have the same problem, after keeping in a quiet place the computer rigs of my colleagues I am having trouble at my home rig. Temperature is sunny here up to 31 degree celsius and the 2 middle graphic cards are reaching 79 degree celsius which is crazy. I am talking about the 2 in the most middle section ,card nr 3 and 4 are the ones who have the highest temperature during the day.

During night it normalises but just a bit, it goes to 72-73 degrees which is a lot and fans are spinning at 82% speed.

you do realize that the temperature unit you use is only used by handful of people around the world ( less than 5% of human beings)

so when you come to world wide place like this you should really use a world wide unit. ain't nobody going to do the math for you.

anyhow without having to know how hot is your 85 deg, a good tip would be to mine cryptonight based coins till the summer is over.

So after I disabled the 3 hot GPUs from the rigs, other gpus are below 80 deg F (27 deg cel). I plan to just use a 6 gpu rig to hold these three cards ( they will have 6 inches ) in between and run them in the new rig. Hopefully it will help. Outside the temp now is 86 (~29 celcius) and all gpus are below 80 F (27 Cel)

I had to disable 7 of the 20 gpus to accommodate outside temperature of 90F (32 C). Summer is going to be interesting.

what are you using to SEE those temps ? there is no way on planet earth that a gpu will run at 27 cel unless it's doing nothing !!

I imagine in the room a bit hotter and noisy.
use the exhaust or air conditioner or use both but should pay attention to the layout of the room so that it will be effective when using it.

Don’t fuck with the guy.

He made an effort to listen to you. His  correction was over zealous.

At op your gpus are already in c. So they are 80c which is just okay.

The only way a gpu does 27c while Mining would be with high end water coolers
