Paying people to post on Bitcointalk

I think there are way too many of those nowadays... "bounties" merely for posting on a thread and that sort of thing. what can be done about it?

I don't feel like posting links right now, but there are various ones, I even saw ones that pay people to send sMerit to their account.

In his defense, he might have been lurking before registering here--or else it's an alt account being used for whatever reason.  I was aware of how bad the shitposting situation was before I actually created an account here, but I definitely didn't just jump right into addressing it when I had activity=9.  It was quite some time before that happened, if I recall correctly.

OP, everyone is aware of what the problem is and the extent of its effects.  Theymos doesn't want to do away with signature campaigns; he's made that quite clear.  Basically we just have to suck it up and deal with it, and that's why he introduced the merit system. 

The next improvement that needs to happen (that probably won't) is that altcoin signature campaigns need to stop accepting Jr. Members with shitty posting histories.  Those folks aren't worried about earning merit, because they can employ multiple low-ranked accounts and still earn enough money from the campaigns to feed their indolent families for years.  The bitcoin-paying sig campaigns are better-managed by far, have better rules, and in general don't condone spamming.  Altcoin bounties are another story entirely.

Sending sMerits to someone with a (bribe) is against forum rules you should never think about joining in this community if your only purpose is earning free money for posting on our forum use bitlanders instead for the comprehensive attention I gave in that site I thought the site is very generous if you have enough followers.

Learning a few things like PGP and BIP structures would really help you established as a decent member not a cryptomaniac that the only desire is to post unsubstantial opinion due to weekly limit to add stake.

A technicality. Selling sMerits is against the forum rules only if you are a merit source. If you are not a merit source, then it is up to the community to deal with it - you may get negative trust.

Don't you think you went too extreme  with your post per referring to people's family the way you just did. It's true a lot is wrong and people are doing all kind of Spammy posts just to navigate through their bounty weekly rules but still, their families should be respected. I think the introduction of KYC by some bounties now will also help curtail this act and limit people from joining a set campaign with multiple accounts.

As for the title, its called advertisement, people advertise and try to attract other member to check someone's project by posting on threads with their creative thinking attached by the thing called signature. And are you going to advertise and soend your time and talent for free? Dont think so.

Don't you think you went too extreme  with your post per referring to people's family the way you just did. It's true a lot is wrong and people are doing all kind of Spammy posts just to navigate through their bounty weekly rules but still, their families should be respected.

Supporting a family with a legion of shitposting alt accounts, abusing bounties, and plagiarizing isn't worthy of respect in my opinion.  And frankly I don't know these people and don't care how they feed their families; the only thing I know about them is that they post nonsense and pollute bitcointalk with crap.

If you have to resort to spamming in order to but bread on the table, I would suggest you learn about condoms and birth control and wait until your finances are stable before having children.  I don't respect people who put their kids to work in sweat shops, either.  I think most people--not just the shitposting population on bitcointalk--need to not have kids.

Do you suggest to force the bounty managers that accept Jr. Members to change the rules of the altcoin signature campaign they manage? How these restrictions should be realized, in your opinion?

Theymos should ban altcoin signature bounties altogether, IMO--the ones requiring people to post on bitcointalk.  I could care less about social media bounties and translation ones.

I agree. If people are getting paid to make 25 posts per week, and they are feeding their families with that, well, the least they can do is to make good quality posts.
I think shitposting is disrespectful with the forum, with his family, campaign manager (all people whom he should be grateful)

OP, If the project specifically states 'post on our thread for x amount of tokens,' feel free to report them. It's against forum rules to incentivize posting.

As for the debate ITT surrounding signature campaigns, I personally believe people who are higher ranking on bitcointalk shouldn't be forced to make a certain amount of posts for signature bounties. Those who are higher ranking typically got there because they already know how to contribute to the forum appropriately and I think there should be a rule that states signature campaigns cannot have a minimum post requirement for the following two reasons;

1- The forum rules already state you can't incentivize posting, which this does.
2- I wouldn't click on a signature link from some spam machine, but I might actually click on a signature link from a legendary member who rarely speaks. It's like they have something actually important to say so I'll hear them out. I understand that the ICO project is attempting to market themselves, but they're clearly going about it in the wrong way. I certainly wouldn't take the advice from someone who comments 'good project' on everything they come across.

I'm not sure if you're actually serious, just not paying attention around here or have a confirmation bias based on your situation.

There are lots of threads and posts where people talk about making more in a week from bounties than a month at their job.  I honestly don't have a problem with that part of it but when they come here and turn the forum into a cesspool of useless redundant copy and pasted shit posts and do it with an army of alts, ya I and a lot of other users get a little pissed off.  Some of us have been around for years and truly believe in BTC and want it to become something greater for the whole world.  So ya it is kind of disgusting and ignorant and insulting when people treat this forum (which some of us really care about) like a whore and it is their right to abuse it.

There are some amazing people in this community and the community will open her arms and take you in if you just show just a little more than zero fucks given...
