Hey guys, received today 2x Antminers S9, one of them though is making a weird ''metal'' noise when I gently shake it... Like if something inside was loose. The other Antminer is fine though. I wonder what should I do... Just plug it in or return it directly to Bitmain. Thanks a lot.

Make sure when you are shaking it you are holding onto the hashin boards themselves as they rattle around in the case like that normally. If you still hear that noise you might have a loose heatsink, if thats the case you do not want to power it up without repairing the board first.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

Just saw exactly what was causing the noise : The middle board is loose. What should I do now? Try to repair it locally or send it to bitmain...?

Sometimes the heat sinks that are epoxyed on the chips come loose in shipping. You may have to pull off one of the fans to check inside to make sure that you do not have a heat sink loose in there or you will damage the miner when you power it on.

You said the middle "board" is loose. It is normal the the boards move around a bit, what you need to worry about specifically is loose heatsinks and you didnt make it clear if that is what you meant.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.
