Hello,

I am claudi and a european developer.
My problem is that I didn't find an ellegant way to get the actual price of an altcoin in USD/EUR (for example LTC, FTC, WDC...)
Is there a page with an API (json would be best) where I can get those information easy?
Or is there a smart way to get the actual BTC prices of those currencies, so I can calculate the actual USD/EUR rate by myself?
I am searching for 2 hours now at google and here but can't find any tip how to do this.

Sadly I can't use the PM feature to contact Gliss (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=199685.0) (the developer of coinmarketcap.com)
He seems to have found a good way to calculate the price by himself.
Would be nice if he would throw a glimps into this topic and give me a small tip.

Thanks for all your help!

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Please wait for some hours until you are able to post in other sub forums. You will get floods of help there.

Have you looked into the Cryptsy API? I haven't touched it, but it should do what you need.

Yes look into it. It will definitely help. But I don't know whether it is json or not.

Thank you guys. This looks really promising. At cryptsy I can get the latest trade price in BTC.
Is there another alternative like cryptsy where I don't need a API Key? (Public)

Hey Claudi,

You don't need an API key, it's public info:  http://pubapi.cryptsy.com/api.php?method=marketdatav2

The only major problem with that, is that downloading that big chunk of data, and processing it every 5 minuted, would be a pain in the ass at best.

Indeed. Is there a way of just downloading the "lasttradeprice" without the other (for me) unimportant information?
