xtrememiners.net IS a scam

1.) The adress of the "company" is the same as the consulate generale of argentina:

2.) The "company" is no company like "GmbH" or "KG" or "AG" as usual in Germany, it is "Mr." Berg

3.) The German so called "Impressum" is incomplete, you MUST write your full name, an email is missing, no VAT (Umsatzsteuer ID), what is a MUST HAVE, if you make business with outside of Germany.

4.) The phone number provided is not from Frankfurt, what is +49-69- but it is a german mobile phone number.

5.) The prices are in US$ not € as it is the German currency, and they claim to manufacture it in Germany, so they never ever would risk to be paid in US$, but even they take no US$ but Bitcoins ...

Now think twice, before wasting your valuable bitcoins on this.

Keep in mind, they claim to deliver products worth 6,190,000 US$ just in bitcoins ....

I have spoken to them on the phone (in full panic mode) at the number listed on their website and invoice. German accent. They responded to my emails within about 20m at approx 1300 UTC today.

Another user posted in non-newb forurms that they refunded 11BTC to someone who asked. So far, I'm nervous like I would be sending 5BTC to a relatively unknown internet entity, but I haven't read anything definitely scamesque, such as refusing to cancel/refund an order without good reason. 

Time will tell if they can deliver the goods on time/spec. Given that the 5BTC is all old mined gravy, I'd probably be happy with the shiny case to pile my obsolete hardware in.

Due diligence is best performed before hitting that send button.

They've since sent me their business registration, which I've verified on the handelsregister, registered to Jorge Berge, etc. Also sent some pics of their office, which I had requested.

Not sure what else I can reasonably verify at this point. They answer the phone and email. They claim they are mining with their prototypes. At this point it seems legit and I'm not really more worried about my 5.3BTC than I would be if I sent it to BFL.

Of course it's a scam.
For one, why the bling design boxes? The money spent on appearances of the machines is money thrown away. If you're designing the best machine, why spend time and money on appearance?
Second, no specs on the site whatsoever? Why not?
Third, the best option on the net: fastest, shortest delivery wait, lowest power consumption, and, on top of that: the only one that seemed to be designed by a professional.
If it looks too good to be true, it is.

And, BTW, refunding someone as mentioned in another thread is probably an optimal strategy for a scammer that aims for the jackpot. Those 11 BTC buy a lot of credibility!

Another bitcointalk member(golingo) stated: A friend of mine lives in Frankfurt and checked out the building for me. No indication of a company named Xtreme Miners or Jorge Berg whatsoever.

I HAVE NOT verified the company name. Still don't have it. My opinion is more strongly back to "scam".

Received a full refund of my 5.3 BTC.

They were still unable/unwilling to provide me with standard German company info, legal name, VAT, etc.

Despite refund, would not order or transmit any funds to them without full assurances from a lawyer, contracts in hand, notarized copies of ID's, all the company details etc.

Not sure if they've made off with other funds.

From whom you expect your hardware, since there is no company address listed?

You can only pay in bitcoins, good luck in getting your money back
in case you wouldn`t receive your mining hardware.

Actually I would be very much surprised if anyone would receive any hardware.
You can forget about it: no address and only payable by bitcoins, what other
warning signs do you want before all alarms go off?

The fact that no one wrote that it`s a quite probably a scam is, because there are 6 more weeks
to come.
