All of my close friends are into it.  In fact, two of them have more than me now and one of those recently cashed out a small percent and quit his job.  That small cash out gave him enough fiat for the next two years.

The only friend I told thinks I have balls of steel ;D

Why did you guys tell your parents? Haha :D

Ah I suppose it is fun to be able to share your success with someone. But telling people with more regular risk appetites and either no insight into Bitcoin or not enough trust in you, will set you up for disaster. And telling your girl will make her feel like you're trying to impress her.

Hehe, guess I'm lucky that my gf actually is impressed when I tell her about it. Both because she gets the math behind it and can relate to the geeky thrill of it all, and because, in her words, she wants that private swimming pool ASAP :P

My dad's retired and in Europe (I'm in the US at the moment), and he spends quite a bit of time investing. He'd remembered I told him about bitcoin a while ago, and called me on Thanksgiving to recommend I sell half my bitcoins because it's now over $1000, so why not cash in half the profit so I can't lose?

It's hard to explain to someone, the lottery notion of bitcoin, the all-or-nothing of it. Also hard to explain why people, especially younger people, fall in love with the genius and balance of the technology. Either it's going $10k+ or it's at zero, and I'm ok with it going either way (of course, I have a *preferred* way it would go).

I get it all the time from the wife, family and neighbors.

The only ones who keep telling me not to sell are my 3 kids who have 10 BTC each.

I'm quite frustrated by this right now.

Girlfriend doesn't want to hear about bitcoins.
Parents tell me I am a dreamer and it's just virtual money unlike the 50k Euro they put in a deposit bank account as a gift to me two months ago but forbid me to use it for buying coins. What a waste.

Friends don't want to hear about bitcoins either and rather love giving me free unwanted advice to sell it all.
I cannot celebrate with any-fucking-body except a few old timers from the bitcoin meetup. That is sad.

I should use some to buy me a fucking GT-R and decorate it all around with giant bumper stickers in the shape of middle fingers.

Instead of being resentful, I would take this as a window into the minds of 99% of the people walking this Earth, and then I would apply that to my Bitcoin position. That's just one man's opinion.

Yup, all the time I mention Bitcoin they're like "cash out, that's a lot of money". By not cashing out the first time they told me I've "made" 5000 dollars.

Funny my farther in law is concerned for me and wants me to sell, the last time he suggested I sell was just after the crash around $100,
I guess if he hung out here he may see the pending correction as volatility on the way up.

The best answer you can give is based on a little action, sell a little, take some profit, next time they give you advice or ask, just tell them you sold out at XXXX and regret it because it is YXXX.

But don't let on you are still 97-99% in and you just sold 1-3%

Thank me in Bits 12MwnzxtprG2mHm3rKdgi7NmJKCypsMMQw

Maybe he's working for a bank, you gotta understand the stress they have to bear with, right now.
