Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

A lot of altcoin can be mined, depending on the coin is POW or the POS force mechanism, usually POW coins need a professional mining machine, and the POS coin only needs you to have a stock to get coins. There is now a new voting mechanism.

It is not  simple to mine altcoins at the moment. Some BTC and ETH miners swith off part of their mining powers for mining of most valuable alts and  hash rate have increased dramaticaly. So single video card it is not enough for alts mining.

It depends which coin you want to mine , and on which algorithm they are build on , every coin has a specific algorithm for mining , Like monero mining is different then Bitcoin and ethereum , every coin need specific mining equipment for mining

You look like a complete newbie. Better start with Nicehash user friendly perfect for newbies like you. Nicehash would pick the best coin for you to mine and you will be paid in  bitcoin. Yes you read it right you will be paid in bitcoin Wink no need to go to exchanges to exchange it for bitcoin or eth.

Well, just plug in your hardware, run software and it will mine the coins automatically
However, not every coins are to be mined.

Next, before you mine you must know if it is worth to mine and take the factor of cost of hardware, profit per day for mining after electricity and etc
Note: Never mine with your laptop unless you wanted to destroy it, even certain desktop are not good for mining because of low end cpu/gpu

First of all, altcoin is not a token, it is a general term for all tokens.
So if you want to dig up any tokens, you need to search for that token yourself.

Yes as of now you can mine altcoins even with a mobile device. Example on this is the electroneum coins. Electroneum can be mined using pc or any mining rig but also it is available to mine using mobile phone. It is the first coin to be mineable using a mobile device. As for others, you can mine altcoins using your CPU or GPU mining rigs that gives you a lot of profit for mining but gathering these hardware materials surely will cost you a lot of fortune.

You can first have a look at which altcoins are mineable. You can do it here: https://coinmarketcap.com/. Then there are a lot of guides for a particular altcoin on how to do it and especially to calculate if it is still worth it. You usually have a few options, you can do it with a few graphics cards or get a ASIC machine, which is basically a piece of hardware dedicated for mining altcoins.

If you don't have a mining rig, then go for POS mining. Right now the most profitable alts which allow POS mining are:

1. Dash
2. NEO
3. PIVX
4. Deep Onion
5. OK Cash
6. NAV
7. Stratis
8. Reddcoin

2 options. Either buy or take part in subscription companies bounty, and earn tokens that soon it will be possible to exchange for altcoins. there are no other options.

It is possible to mine them, but you need to find out their working system (meaning on what base this is going to work), and it only depends on the coin you want to mine.

At the moment, it is considered hard to start mining bitcoins as a hobby, as it is nearly impossible without using an ASIC processor, which is very expensive. Alternatively, you can use your personal computer at home and mine other digital currencies.
We will help you with everything you need to know in order to start mining altcoins with your CPU at home. Ofcourse we urge you to take into consideration all costs and the fact that if you do not own a high-end (preferably recommended for mining) graphics card, you will probably end up loosing money rather than making a profit.
Most cryptocurrencies use a SHA-256 or scrypt algorithm although most recent ones just prefer scrypt.
Scrypt needs more memory space, nevertheless the home computers nowadays have strong graphic cards and can do the job quite successfully. Therefore it is still possible to your computer at home to mine a few digital currencies, even your laptop in some cases, although it is not very effective.
