Hey all, I just ordered my first official Scrypt build through Newegg:

I want to know about powered risers, and how they are important. I checked Amazon for their powered risers but they're sold out! I really need advice so I don't blow something up. I ordered non-powered risers from Newegg (I ordered 4) so I would like to know what's up.

Thanks.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Bump, looking for help.

I can't find powered risers available for sale almost anywhere. It seems hashratestore has them but they arrive in 4-6 business days to the US and I am going to want them a bit sooner, unless I absolutely don't need them.

run maybe one card on a non powered riser but anything more will be pushing it and risking a fire hazard

Okay, he doesn't have 1x to 16x right now. Can I just buy 3 of these and run them in the 16x lanes? Or...?

Hi

To answer your question, yes, you can put 1-16x into a 16-16x lane, however, depending on your board, you might need to short it in order to recognize it. Theres a tutorial somewhere online. Also because of your card count make sure they're powered. But If you don't want to deal with that, I'm USA based and ship same day from my store with a ton of risers in stock. Good luck!
