No, not a scam at all.  I have been using them for quite awhile and they are an indispensable service when it comes to converting your alt-coins to btc so you can actually realize all of your profits with a service like Coinbase. I have them as my default for deposits of Namecoins that I get in excess when mining primarily btc using BTCGuild with their merged mining of btc and nmc.  When my nmc hoard builds up to a nice amount I'll go and get a couple btc from them and BTC-E.com is the only place I have found that does this.

One Warning: You do need to see if people are currently gaming with the alt-currency that you want to exchange for btc because it can help or really hurt you. This site is the one place that is very easy to manipulate because of the lack of other market centers that trade these alt-coins and experienced users will take advantage of the novice if given the chance.

listen maybe you are another sock puppet newbie with 0 posts, don't fill this thread with erroneous information about alt currency's etc trying to confuse people, nobody said there haven't been people who had trades that went through, the accusation is it is a selective scamming scheme i.e. they rip off a percentage of customers not everybody in order to perpetuate the fraud for months

yes a good thing they got going on over there, but maybe they realise that it could all end if it bursts, or maybe the temptation of millions is a lot stronger than 0.02 fee's, who knows what their mindset is, if they were scammers before the bitcoin revolution with the btc highs, old habits are hard to break!

And if they are genuinely just swamped with payments that they cant handle, the end result is the same, people are losing money and they should be closed down or at least told to get their shit together, repeating oh we dont speak english is no excuse, hire some staff!

still think its a scam though

I have been using BTC-E too. I have made two transfers of money through Perfect Money and I've had no problem. I've also done some trading with altcoins and USD with no problems. Although now I'm getting worried since this past week the amount of scam complaints have increased quite a bit and I'm planning to take my Bitcoins out of there if this stuff is not resolved for this people.

All 'old' accounts, all coming out in support of BTC-e. Seems legit.......

I assume newbies can post outside of Newbie section in the Scams section only? Otherwise .... huh?

This thread started in and was originally posted in newbie section....anyway,

As a total newbie to Bitcoin ...[snip] ...anybody have any ideas?

1. It was a statement of support, no need to get all bent out of shape.

2. Can tell you're new...

3. If you want help, it's best not to insult random people whom you're asking for help from. Especially one who is one of the better people on here at dox'ing.
The joke on #Bitcoin-OTC is no-one recovers from a 'Fox Dox'...

oh I get it now, I apologise, I thought the opposite, I missed the sarcasm, once again I apologise profusely :-)

these are the oldest tricks in the scambook, sell something cheaper, appeal to peoples greed so they are blind to the obvious shortcomings of it, use every excuse under the sun why theres a problem, dont rip everybody off at the same time, then when the games up and they cant milk it anymore comes the final fuck and you suddenly realise how far away they really are. then you will all be looking at the blockchain watching your coins get traded away and fuck all you can do about it. brilliant scam, its gonna be millions, the biggest scam in btc history so far

better get your russian dictionarys out so you can write letters to the prosecutors in god knows where complaining about noone you know, not even a name

how can this not be a huge matter of concern for anybody holding bitcoin, and the mods on this forum??? once they go watch the crash, i think ill wait to buy in when everyone sells heh. btc-e clients and anybody holding bitcoin are gonna get right royally fucked, you have been warned

Seems obvious. BTC-e sock puppets have been around for a long time here. Their exchange is two years old. So they scam newbies, especially ones like me who sent them mucho BTC, and they have their shills and sock puppets here with "old" accounts to make the newbs look like dorks... Working it seems with most people who don't realize that age of your account or number of posts have anything to do with credibility. No wonder so many get scammed by BTC-e...

BTC-E has been good to me, using it for 1.5 years or so.

Withdrawing any decent amount of NVC always takes a long time though, that's one drawback.

I always trust it a bit more because it is Russian, it is not as likely to be shut down from the latest Goldman Sachs-made financial regulation set by the American gov.

Though you should never leave a lot of money their for long periods of time (on any exchange) if you can avoid. After being scammed a bunch of times in the Bitcoin community, the latest with having my deposits to WeExchange stolen by the owner Ukyo / Jon Montroll, I'm sort of hesitant to use any service unless needed. But BTC-E hasn't given me much problems or worries.

Hello
As a total newbie to Bitcoin and wanting a piece of the pie I find myself inexplicably drawn to the relatively "cheap" prices on this exchange when compared to other exchanges. But I don't want to send off my savings to persons unknown where I have read so much bad press about payments going missing, selective scamming, and unknown people behind this operation! I am sure others would like to know who they are. Surely its in the best interests of the Bitcoin community to put some faith behind this organisation as they appear to be a main player...so any speculation on who they are? The website is hidden in who.is and they use some Russian organisation registered in the UK thats providing them with wire transfer services, Mr Nikolay Rozhok of Mayzus Financial Services Ltd. Maybe Mr Rozhok and BTC-E.COM are the same..anybody have any ideas?

So you just barge in here, state that your are a noob and CLAIM some established business as a scam ?
Good job.

Haven't had any problems with them, though I only use it for trading, and I don't perform fiat deposits or withdrawals.

I wired $15,000 USD over 5 weeks ago and it has not been deposited yet :/  I've supplied all documents and sent three tickets. The most recent ticket auto-expired after no response in a week... Anyone know what my legal recourse is or what authorities I can contact?

BTC-e is now SCAM!

I've made my first deposit last year after verifying my account by bank statement and utility bill. The funding was on my account after several business days. Great!

Second deposit after 1-2 months and they didn't want to release my funding saying I need to verify my account. I told them nicely and even added the ticket number of my verification. They didn't bother to read or go to the ticket. They were very rude and just kept saying things like "you need to verify your account!"
They never answered why it suddenly got "unverified". Never explained anything, never said sorry for the inconvenience or anything in that matter. They just kept demanding me sending them all the documents. So I send them everything again and then they released my funds.

This year I needed to buy some coins for my sister and because she isn't familiar with this, I told her that I could buy it for her. I already have several accounts.
I wired the money nearly 2 week ago. 3 business days after I wired the funds, I began checking my account. Nothing, but I didn't worry. I checked day after day and nothing.
A few days ago I contacted them asking why it's taking so long. No answer or explaining, wanted to see proof. I send them my bank statement, but that's not good enough for them and so the drama continues.......

Those fuckers are even worse than Mt.Gox. No matter how bad things were at Mt.Gox, they did kept being friendly and apologizing for the inconvenience. I know that they got into trouble after the US government took millions from them. But the support at BTC-e is the worse!!!
Monday, I will contact my bank and ask for advice what to do.

so STAY AWAY from BTC-e!!!!

Good day, write please the ticket number, we will check and reply to you

I wired $15,000 USD over 5 weeks ago and it has not been deposited yet :/  I've supplied all documents and sent three tickets. The most recent ticket auto-expired after no response in a week... Anyone know what my legal recourse is or what authorities I can contact?

I don't know if this is a scam or not but I've decided not to use them after I saw how many fees they have! Not to mention that I had to get verified!
And the fees are pretty high as I wanted to spend around 50$
If you have friends in Holland you can use an exchage there! i will send you the link!

Space for rent if its still trending
