I am planning to get a video card to mine litecoins in 1 month. I don't know if I should get a 7870 or the new R9 270x. The R9 is basically a re-brand of a RHD 7870, so I would expect it to have the same hash rate. However,
https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison
. .says that a R9 270x gets 475 Kh/s (1120 MHz), and a 7870 (1120 MHz) gets 385 Kh/s.
So which one is better? On Newegg, a Radeon 7870 is $150, and a 270x is $200.

I have a 7870XT and get between 395kh/s and 420kh/s depending on the miner.

Why not look at a 7950 if you can get hold of one, they will be available for a similar price, but from what I've read you can get over 600 kh/s out of one.

At 390kh/s you can mine around 0.23 LTC a day at current difficulty, so may be worth looking at multiple cards
