Lost Bitcoins are lost forewer....Huh??!!!

is there eany list of lost bitcoins ...(lost wallet,....forgotten,..)

No...

There is no way to know if it's lost or if somebody has just been saving it for a long period of time.

there is a thread around here somewhere, but it's not that accurate since bitcoins are semi-anonymous.

if i had to make an uneducated guess, i'd put it at 5%-8% of all bitcoins to date.. unless you count satoshi's stash, which is 1.5 million coins.

now that BTC is valued so high up there, i would think that fewer and fewer people will end up losing their coins.

Hah, I lost 100BTC in 2010. My roommate got us illegally evicted, despite my telling him the laws here, we weren't behind on rent, he was just an ass and the landlord threatened all this crap. Sold gear to get a place, and hard drives got mixed up. Really sucks now..........I remind him everytime I see him that I would have 100k today

Yes you can know that. There is actually a list of major losses somewhere in the forum.

There is a list in the media and in the forum

But in general hard to tell unless somebody admits they have lost the private keys
