Hi all
as you can see I'm FOB here, however there are certain 3 letter agencies who are doing everything in their power to
limit/end our internet freedom, with this in mind, we should tell as many folks as possible about crypto-currencies and use them as much as possible to buy/sale online. safety in numbers... Smiley

It's happened before (for limited amounts of time) in Egypt, Libya, and Syria, among others, where they simply disconnected from the Internet as we know it and only served/received content nationally.

There's really no reason for the USG to control the Internet like it does, so I don't think there will only be one USG-controlled Internet dominating the world when I die. That's not to say they won't connect to each other, though, but maybe it'll be a much more fragmented, decentralized place (not to be confused with a more free place, however). I guess it'd be called a multi-net?

Sure is lots of [source needed] conspiracy ranting in here... Anyway, I doubt that anyone believes that BTC or any of the alternatives are going to completely replace paper currency for quite awhile yet. The idea is still very much in its infancy. Give it time, governments will try, and fail, to regulate it, then it will slowly begin to be more widely accepted on a grand scale.

There is no evidence of what you said occurring. I took a search myself on google.hk and could not find any news even remotely relevant to what you claimed is happening.

I think it is just FUD, but I already read about the google.hk Chinese ban from OP here  Smiley :

These chinese gov. has done everything it could, to dethrone the dollar in a few years.

A couple of days ago the chinese gov
announced that they will no longer invest into FX exchanges (dollars, bonds, etc.)

http://www.marketpulse.com/20131120/china-longer-expanding-fx-reserve/

This shouldve made the news and been all over the headlines, yet everything is being pushed along and kept quiet.

The chinese are positioning themselves to pull the plug on the US dollar very soon, and I dont think that the Chinese Gov. Is going to allow Btc to ruin its agenda. I just read the Chinese Vendors will be banned from doing any transaction.with BTC (look it up at google.hk)

The chinese gov. Is buying all the precious metals it can (gold, silver) , and so should you.

How about you research a bit about this magical internet?
There are roughly 50+ cables , some of them coming out of the sea on popular beaches , unprotected, that support more than 2/3 of the total internet trafic.
Cut those , and you're gonna cry waiting hours for the google webpage to load  if ever.

Every major government already has "kill switches" for the public internet within their territory established in the name of emergency planning.  In addition, it is hard to believe that SHA-256 is not completely compromised in all respects by at least one three letter agency -- that could poison the system at any time they chose.  It's important to remember that while BTC may be incredibly useful and has/may continue to provide amazing returns -- its durability in the case of emergency or geopolitical turmoil is open to question.  I don't think OP was trolling.

That said, go BTC go!

Because until now there hasn't been a moron with the appropriate tools who wanted to damage them ...
If we speak about a country wanting to cut them....
It will take only two medium class warships to take all the cables between America (continent) and Europe in less than 12 hours.
Also , all the submarine cables than go to South and Central America run through the US.

Most of the new Internet infrastructure being built in countries around the world in response to the NSA is being built to prevent *DOMESTIC* traffic (ie, within that nation) from going over national borders (and usually to the USA which has the most Internet infrastructure deployed.)

In fact I heard the other day that England passed a law forbidding the routing of its domestic Internet traffic via international lines.  Of course if an Englishman wants to access a Peruvian site, the traffic is going to be routed internationally (and probably through the US where the NSA can sniff it).

Well its soone to be, a disconected internet, with already country's making there ''own'' internet. But yeah can you blame em, with al the spying and hacking done over it, internet just isnt safe if you got valueble things at it.

I believe a country based internet for factories and running the goverment, and a global internet for world communication is coming.

Cut those , and you're gonna cry waiting hours for the google webpage to load  if ever.

What, really?

Geeze, this is incredible.

Why haven't these been terrorised yet haha? There'd be a good film in this. *In cliché movie voice* Imagine a world with no internet.....

Geeze, for some reason I find this both terrifying and exhilarating. Sounds like armageddon. There would definitely be a good film idea in this.

Edit, Not the film Armageddon lol.

Sure, and at the same time recomended for secure use by themselves, so anyone can compromise their systems anytime, brilliant !
