the worthless bitcoin/litecoin debate

I knew about bitcoin the end of last year and I was so fascinated about bitcoin that I was one week suffering from not sleeping/eating enough because of reading and searching it trying to understand the hole concept, I am so thankful that I knew about it just about the right time.

when I started there were few alts that I knew about, Litecoin and namecoin and PPC and that was all what I knew about alts, at the time it did make sense having 2 or 3 alts, and more or less LTC as a hole different network made more sense, NMC as a merged mined that should deal with domain names didn't make any sense but what ever, PPC had also a concept(if they didn't have the checkpoints...)

but the recent event of litecoin's price and the hate between members in this community was really surprising, I have to admit that my Bitcoins hold more value than my litecoins and I see a great future for both Bitcoin and Litecoin and I am sure that they will both shine, yet I do not understand people arguing about the small things, cant you put your energy in use and work together to make a better Bitcoin and Litecoin community?

 in other hand I was checking the ALT sub-forum the last few months, and I spent some time to see what is going on there and yes I have to admit that this shit went out of control, I mean there is sexcoin and there is even shitcoin and there is .. you have a coin for every word in the dictionary. but the question and it is funny how this coins are even comparable to Bitcoin or even litecoin, it is like having money and monopoly money.

 Litecoin members and devs also helped to bring Bitcoin to where it is at now and this cant be ignored, the other reason is litecoin was never created to replace Bitcoin, and you have no reason to be afraid about your investment in Bitcoin, the last 3 days I was Bitcoin only going up in value we even surpassed the once gold value, Litecoin surpassed silver... all going as planned so quit bitching and do something useful for the community.

Only reason litecoin get so much love in the forums is from all the miners that can continue to use their now worthless graphikcards mining rigs.

Why BTC has value? We both know that, and so does most of this forum. I assume your point is that what gives BTC value also gives LTC value?

If your logic was correct then a bitcoin-clone (just like litecoin), lets call it DinkyWinkyCoin has value for the same reasons as BTC.

How about this, someone give me a coherent argument for why litecoin creates value which BTC doesn't. Anxiously awaiting your response mmitech.

No pesky ASIC miners and 8 times the coin generation of Bitcoin.

Oh, and fees to dream of. Minimum fee is 0.02 LTC, though it seems not uncommon to charge more (btc-e charges 0.1 LTC). Yummy, yummy.

This ^^. I do not use or trade Litecoin, but it is great that there is competition that is successful as well. Competition is good for innovation. And it shows that Bitcoin is not unique, it is likely that it will be surpassed by better crypto, just be ready when the moment comes.

Yeah, I was a bit hesitant to say it before, but I really think that anyone who owns any litecoins at all should be arrested, sent to an extermination camp and gassed with cyanide or shot in the back of the head. Well, unless the camp doctor wants to have a bit of fun with vivisection or something. You've really got my number.
