Hi All,

I'm looking to buy Litecoins in the UK with GBP - however, the very few exchanges I've found willing to accept GBP have exorbitant mark ups/commissions.  It looks to me as though I'll  have to go through the GBP-BTC-LTC route at the moment.  However, I know buyers can hook up with sellers directly and have a one on one trade, is this recommended?  I'd appreciate any guidance, thanks.

Well imagine it's not much different from buying something on Gumtree if you look at one of the local sellers/buyers sites.  Although the prices always have a bit of a premium attached to them.
I've used Bitstamp to go from GBP->BTC and didn't have any problems.

As a newbie myself. I can only offer this. if you hook up and do some trading find a good honest member to act as middle man for the exchange....
