Wondering what you guys use as a firewall. I know the meraki mx64w has been recommended by people in the past but just looking for something secure, user friendly, remote access and fail-over capabilities.

I'm not a network guy so thanks for understanding in advanced.  Grin sparky

Cheers

best advice from me, is to have two networks, the cheapest line possible to mine and a normal access for your personal use. and wireless access will fry you and your neighbors long term, but I don't think you care Smiley.

When the people of the world will get that covid was intentionally released to frame china, steal the election from trump, assure massive bail outs and foster the forced vaccination agendas...they will forget, like 911, wmds in irak, uss liberty or pedogate.

Why not Make your own ? I have a regular PC running Pfsense (Router + Firewall).

I use this four port NIC I350T4V2BLK
this NIC https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Intel-OEM-I350T4V2BLK-Ethernet-Server-Adapter-Gigabi-4-Port-RJ45-PCI-Express/112400469306?hash=item1a2b970d3a:g:NHEAAOSwhvFZEIBT.

If you want to match the power of that firewall with a cisco switch WS-C3750G-48PS-S is a perfect pair.

for wireless connection I use an access point (AP).

Are you looking for wireless built in?  Or just a straight up firewall?  If you don't mind building your own, look up pfsense.  If you want wireless, this is probably a better alternative to meraki (for home use anyway)  https://www.synology.com/en-us/products/RT2600ac

Thanks for input guys!

I'm just looking for a hard wired firewall I can add downstream from the service provider's modem. No wireless.

Not as technical as some of you guys are so building my own seems daunting.

Is it worth spending $1000-$1500 on this? With a license too.

if you aren't fully paranoid just read the online reviews and pick one to your budget, if you are then get an enterprise grade fortigate with zero day AV for about a grand and use both Grin

The juniper Srx220 seems like it has all the bells and whistles. A little pricey but I'm sure it does a superior job.

Is ZyXEL USG60-NB any good? $675 Canadian on amazon doesn't look too bad.

Even the USG60 with security bundle,  $871 Canadian.
