Lost Bitcoins in the system

As we all know there will be 21 million coins mined by 2140.  I personally have lost a few coins that are never goin to be recovered.  Lost/broken cell phones with some coins on the mobile wallet.  Are these coins lost for good, or will the block chain recognize these lost coins somehow and will still produce and circulate the requisite 21 million.

Im thinking when its all said and done....well at that point I'll be long said and done, there will only be about 20 million coins floating around.

You can never say if the Bitcoins are lost or someone just holding em tight (never sending the Bitcoins)

Right but my broken devices I know no one will send them because I disasembled my Galaxy III personally and sold the parts.  the Logic board shorted out and those coins are lost forever.  So I guess its RIP 0.023 BTC......your future purchasing power will be missed.....well the bright side is I limited the supply a little and made out remaining coins a little more valuable  lol

Your right, but dont worry, about 1,000,000 BTC is estimated to be lost forever. You might search for threads how early adopters losing 1000+ coins years ago
