If we ever hit 10k bitcoin is going to be constantly in the headlines of every news paper / site / everything.
I think it we 'll be 10k - 100k in 1 month or something.

What an awful typo, correction done.

Tongue much better

I plan to be very generous with all the people that was generous to me. 3 or 4 people.

Then I plan to be generous (but less) with some others.

Based on what? There were dumps, we recovered within the same day. Unless you see a 100+k dump it can't crash that much.
Besides, if we keep up only 5% daily growth we will hit 5k before 2014. Note: we are currently doing much more than 5%.

Yes but for how many days that trend holds? You can't do long term predictions with short term data.

You do realise IF it hits 10k, everyone will begin cashing to fiat, as bitcoin alone is still pretty useless. Panic will cause a crash of some sort..

Why would they? I'd cash out mine at ~$30k minimum.

Same was said about $10, $100 and $1000. Sure, some cashed out. Some even went full fiat (never go full fiat...) but in the end the only thing that changed was that more people got introduced to Bitcoin, happy to buy before the next increase in price.

The exact opposite will happen. If bitcoin hits 10k everyone will understand that bitcoin is unstoppable and they 'll hoard like they never done before.
Although in the long term i don't know if this is good or bad for the ecosystem.

At $1100 I cashed out 1% of my holdings to pay for some Xmas gifts. I'll probably do the same now and then whenever I need something I can't buy with BTC.

The only reason that I would ever cash out 100% would be if I stopped believing in Bitcoin as the #1 crypto currency. Even if a competitor showed up that had what it takes to beat Bitcoin, I still wouldn't cash out immediately simply because of the head start Bitcoin has with ATMs, hardware wallets, POS devices, debit cards, retailers etc.

It's simply not an easy beast to kill.

Right now my BTCs, LTCs and TRCs are worth around $30K.

When BTC cross the $10K mark, my coins will be worth some $275 K

So far I haven't sold any of my BTCs. However, when they cross the $10K mark, I think I'll sell 20% of my coins.  Grin

For that money I'll buy land or gold.
