Does anyone know if there are any frames such as openrig.com's rig available in the states?  I can't really justify spending that much on shipping...

I was using a "test bench".
DIYPC Alpha-DB6 Black Acrylic ATX Bench Case.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811353001

It's completely open which allows for good cooling and is easy to put together.
It wasn't hard to figure out how to hang the GPUs over it.

Look for the Large ATX Tray (mining tray).

Only applies if you want to have you gpu's "hanging", via riser cables.
