23, out of university with my MA; I was heading into a JD program, but I'm taking another year off to see what I can do with the virtual currency industry. 2014 is going to be a hell of a year.

whoa, so you totally sidetracked your professional career just for the prospect of the btc industry?

Hah, well, after 18-19 years of straight schooling, I honestly wanted time off before the high-stress environment of law school. Writing my thesis was bad enough; it's a relief to have an 'excuse' to justify, at least to myself, taking the time off, while I consider the explosion of the virtual currency industry to be a complete windfall. All of us are ahead of the curve right now, and if we can leverage it right, it has the prospect of paying off in spades. We're probably in late BBS-era Internet right now.

Age 56

I was a gold & silver nut till just a few months ago. I have a background in computer programming, economics, and mathematics. Self-educated, when I was a kid, I read almost every book in the non-fiction section of the city library. After I read a serious article about bitcoin, I realized that it was going to change the world. Other people my age just can't seem to grasp this new idea though.

After thousands of years, automobiles made horses obsolete for transportation.

Now, after thousands of years, Bitcoin is making precious metals obsolete as a store of value.

I love science & technology. Glad to be alive at this time in history.

Early 50's.

Like the Internet, at first use tended to be the twenty somethings, computer savvy, and then suddenly quickly adopted by the larger community.

I am thinking the average age may be rising, not so many young people have a thousand dollars to buy with.  Bitcoin certainly has captured the imaginations of a wider variety of people from all walks of life this past year or so.

Sincerely I am, Johnny BitcoinSeed .com

22, though I've been told I'm "old-at-heart." (in older age, this seems to've replace the more euphemistic "mature for my age.")

I'd guess the final euphemism, "old-at-heart," will be replaced by "bitter old bastard" once/if I hit 40. At 60, I'd guess the only question left would be "why aren't you dead, yet, you emotionally-crippled piece of shit?"

Anyway, I feel I should follow the "haha, I'm serious" joke with a lighter one.

Q: Why do old people claim young people think they're immortal but then go on to say "'whatever-age-you-implied-was-old' isn't old"?
A: Because everyone's full of shit. We're all already dead and just waiting to realize it.
