Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Everyone in Cryptocurrency community knows about Lightning Network but Not many people have ever heard about Raiden Network (include me - this is the first time for me)

"The Raiden Network project is developed by Brainbot Technologies AG, Germany, a member of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance, which boasts such names as Microsoft, Intel, Cisco and British Petroleum. Brainbot is a software company that contributes to the development of blockchain protocols. In addition to Raiden, Brainbot is also known for other projects such as Trustlines and Hydrachain. The current development team of Brainbot Technologies consists of 11 people, who are very active on Github..."

Actually, at this time all of us should care much about the solution for network expansion of Bitcoin (Lightning Network) and Ethereum (Sharding, Plasma)
