2011 Casascius original holo error series 1 / v1 coin for sale. Fully funded; unredeemed (1AkX2psT)

If you search for the firstbits on https://www.casascius.com/fulllist.txt you will see the address is:
https://blockchain.info/address/1AkX2psTtWw8CUfU1ptjyoPKiyGmzHFWHp

There are a few very small colorations on the front (presumably from air exposure - they're just about visible in the photo), but as you can see it is definitely in good condition. I received some interest on this from a few parties without running a formal auction, but I think that the interest has been at below market price, so I've decided to run a fast auction. This auction is for a 2011 holo-error casascius coin; this means that the small repeating text in the hologram says "Casacius" instead of "Casascius".

These "holo error" coins have become prized by collectors as you can see in Chainsaw's collectible physical bitcoin thread here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=214589.0

(in the notation format used in the forum, this is a "1 BTC Brass S1 [NG]")

As you can see in the thread, the highest price that has been recorded for a 1BTC coin is 5BTC. The lowest price that has been seen is 3BTC, and those were such a good deal they were snapped up by Chainsaw himself.

Starting bid: 2.25BTC
Minimum increment: 0.06BTC

For this starting price, you will not find a better deal on a holo-error 1BTC coin elsewhere.

Location is London, UK. Shipping is additional and must be paid by the bidder. You can choose your own shipping (so you can decide the speed / cost you would like), as long as it is signed for so that I can verify the coin has been received. International buyers will be responsible for their own customs clearance so be mindful of this. I will ship this out very promptly once payment is received.

Auction closes tomorrow (Sunday, 1 December) at 21:00 UK time; deadline will be extended by 3 minutes after each new bid once this deadline has passed (e.g. if someone bids at 20:59, bid deadline will be 21:02 unless someone bids again before 21:02).

Will wrap in bubblewrap to avoid impacts.

Best

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

You didn't say anything about escrow though....

So 2.25BTC with escrow from SaltySpitoon.

So 2.25BTC with escrow from SaltySpitoon.

Bid accepted at 2.25BTC, subject only to my confirming that SaltySpitoon is trustworthy (I assume he is but I haven't used him before - I normally use SebastianJu or btcrow.com so if you're the winning bidder I will just need to read up on him briefly).

You are currently the high bidder.

To anyone else, please note that I will accept future bids with escrow if SebastianJu or btcrow.com are the escrow provider.

Countdown timer here - http://itsalmo.st/#auctionclosetime
Time in various timezones here - http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meetingdetails.html?year=2013&month=12&day=1&hour=21&min=0&sec=0&p1=136&p2=179&p3=224&p4=240&p5=37

Please note that even if the timer goes to zero, the auction will keep running as long as there's a bid at least every 3 minutes, as per the auction OP.

I'm fine with SebastianJu or Saltyspitoon too as I've used both before/currently.

Saltyspitoon is a mod in these forums anyway fyi.

I understand auction end time was during bitcointalk.org downtime, so auction deadline is extended to the same time next Sunday, 8th December 2013 at 21:00 UK time

Well if you confirm that your bid still stands, you're still the high bidder at least. Let me know

Yea it my bid will stand.

I did find something unusual about the coin though. The firstbits 1AkX2psT doesn't show up on blockchain.info.

This should clarify (in short, they're not technically firstbits, they're actually just the first 8 digits of the address)
