Here's the first 256KB retro-style (minimal) demo dedicated to bitcoin! For those of us who are still nostalgic of the 8-bit era... Download: LinkSHA-1 hash: b62f0f74d8693df2dad924f07300c0fe0f9663fe GPG signature: -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.12 (MingW32)
iEYEABECAAYFAlKaAFUACgkQ0dQqIfkZdf7wdQCgohrevWmQ9x4umywLhUYHG9T5 k48An2PZ8WqsCcN9GidMltOR5dr+m3Xl =G4zK -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
Notes: - For Windows only (all versions) - Should run even on very old hardware - 100% malware/adware free, although it's a good habit to always launch new software on an offline computer (without any critical data) or virtual machine. - Also remember to verify the GPG Signature - More (and better) demos will follow. Feel free to post requests! - Tips appreciated

- 100% malware/adware free, but it's a good habit anyway to always launch new software on an offline computer or virtual machine.
I'd rewrite that to a VM or any computer without keys to an appreciable number of bitcoins. A bad program on an offline signing machine can cause loss of your cold storage wallet by deletion or corruption.

Bitcoiners should gather prize money for a "Bitcoin Wild Compo" or something like that, at some good demo party. Alternative Party/Assembly next year?

Yeah, I've always thought the demo scene would be a great match for bitcoin.

Yeah, I've always thought the demo scene would be a great match for bitcoin. Well, I think we should do it, definitely. I think the prize would be enough to get some interesting entries, I wouldn't be the only one to contribute I guess. Would like some more discussion about the topic! I guess Assembly Summer 2014 would be a nice party for this? It's BIG but has strong old school scene presence... or the Gathering. Both have around 5000 visitors. EDIT: There's now a thread, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=383414.0

And here's #3 - Phenomena. This one's mixing 2 different worlds... (8-bit intros vs BBS art scene) Can ANYONE recognize the music? BTW I'm just a novice with this type of things, still experimenting... And I can only hope that the REAL demo coders catch the Bitcoin boat one day. Nice work! I'd be happy to have a brain wallet generator program for my C64, I'd trust that! I think it would be doable, it would be a tedious ASM programming task though.

Put vids on YouTube. Can't execute .exe on UNIX system. So not many can view.
