Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Why can't I use this wallet in rooted devices?

Edit: got it by hiding root from the app with Magisk. But I still don't like the idea of blocking the use of the app just because the user rooted his phone.

We pay additional attention to the inner data encryption, especially to the private keys. On the rooted devices middleware can get access to this data and all your funds can be stolen.

So, in such case we decided to exclude rooted devices from current support.
But, if you can root your device, you also can make your own Multy app from source code, without root check Wink

Magisk - we have made contribution to the https://github.com/scottyab/rootbeer , but they didn't released it yet Sad

Honestly I like the design as it is modern, tho I really think that it might not be the good time to use your app now. As it is lacking of some features as I see there are some features that are currently in development. What is this exchange tab? Is it that we can connect through our API keys and thus have exchange on our wallet?

When you have more features put into the app, it might be good idea to try to list it on bitcoin.org website as there only opensource wallets are shown. I like the idea of open source wallets and this one looks great so far, keep up the good work!

So far I like the feature of pin as it is relatively easy to set up and when you have to use your wallet not hard to simply type few numbers. Though I think I've found bug on android app with PIN, it tells me when I enter it wrong that 5tries remain, when I enter incorrectly my PIN 5times then it states "1You reached maximum number of tries" and then it will count again starting from 5numbers, without locking me or something. Might be good idea to first ask user to backup their mnemonic before even letting them to do PIN lock because you want to focus on security of users funds. Maybe after these 5tries reset the wallet and put that user has to enter mnemonic again for security reasons.

Hi. We just released first version so a lot of functions are still not implemented.
"Exchange" - In the nearest time we'll integrate Ethereum, so users can exchange BTC for ETH and so on.
We are looking third party APIs to implement this feature. Right now there are 2: ShapeShift and Changelly.

We are planning to make wrong pin input data deletion as a part of user's settings. So you can define the way how the app will react this situation.

Thank you so much for your feedback.

Will follow the development of your app as it seems interesting.

Thank you so much for your feedback.

You welcome, glad I can help you out. Though I have one more question which I forgot to mention above: Are you looking to implement the SegWit, might enable users to switch between SegWit and normal addresses, it is not important to add it right away but I do believe it is the feature that is going to be used more and thus it would be really nice to see it in the app.

Yeah shapeshift and changelly are standard ways that many wallets opt for their built in exchanges which is good to see here as well.

That's an interesting application but doesn't open-sourcing the back-end of your wallet might expose it to the security loopholes if any ? Can you make a proper readme.md documentation for the project.Right now it is all scattered across different repos and hard to connect everything. Are PR's welcomed ? Couldn't find the contributing.md.

We are planing to implement bitcoin lighting network. So SegWit is the necessary part of it. But right now our major goal is to add Ethereum ERC20 Tokens.

We are really open source.
Back-end code is here https://github.com/Appscrunch/Multy-back
Bitcoin node processing service is here https://github.com/Appscrunch/Multy-BTC-node-service

We are using back-end like a storage and for notification. All sensitive data encrypted only on the user's devices.
If someone will hack us, they just know users transactions history and balances. But this is already public data.

I'm sorry for that. Right now we have some build documentation. In the next week we'll make and test all guides for the project.
