Mandatory update to v1.0.2.1, source code now posted to github - please upgrade.

Bug fixes:

• Min TX fee within the QT client is now properly enforced at all levels
• TX fee message has been updated

New difficulty scaling algorithm has been put into place: The same algorithm that PPCoin uses; exponential easing towards the target spacing time. The original algorithm had a serious bug that showed itself earlier tonight and caused the chain to fork. This hard fork is to resolve that issue.

Tagbond is a startup trying to change a few things in the membership and rewards sector. As part of the TagBond idea, we wanted to create a universal rewards currency that could be used everywhere and by everyone, and is specifically created with the rewards market in mind. A coin that itself would earn rewards. So we have created TagCoin.

About Tagbond and TagCash

Tagbond itself is a mixture of ideas from Multiply, Google Adsense, Groupon and Paypal. Anyone can create a community, and add marketing modules to promote on Tagbond itself, or via Facebook and other sites. These modules are called tagverts, which include coupons, prize draws, polls/surveys, mini shopping carts, loyalty cards, competitions and more. They can include rewards for the customer such as membership upgrades, points, real cash and crypto currency, and can include affiliate payments to anyone who wants to share them. RFID, NFC and QR codes are used throughout the system. Tagbond will help crypto to be used as a currency not just a commodity.

Tagbond.com is also a payment platform offering fiat and crypto currency, featuring ewallets, currency conversion, merchant processing, micro payments and escrow.

Mobile applications are under development for all parts of the system, and there is a full API for anyone to integrate with mobile apps and websites.

Finally, we will be launching a Tagbond crypto exchange, featuring 9 major Fiat currencies and only 2 cryptos - TAG and BTC. You will be able to buy and sell using all 9 currencies. There will be no charges within the system - fees are $15 to deposit wire transfers and $25 to transfer out.

About The Developer

http://www.crunchbase.com/person/mark-vernon-2

All of these companies operate from Makati, Philippines, which is a major finance center in Asia. They are wholly owned by Mark Vernon, a veteran of internet business, who owns vtc.com (online software video training since 1996 and currently valued at around $15m USD), iplotz.com and eduslide.com. He is both startup founder and angel investor and is investing approximately $5m USD into the enterprise. The aim of the entire company is to be open and transparent, while also working with banks and central authorities to make this work.

Tagbond is registered with Fincen, and is working with the Bangko Sentral to become a licensed money issuer (which requires $2.5m paid up capital). Banking partners are Standard Chartered Bank and Union Bank. Tagbond and Tagcash will work with other partners as needed for licensing in Europe, USA and other countries.

About TagCoin

TagCoin will be the primary currency used within Tagbond and TagCash. We designed TagCoin with the following objectives in mind:

Fairness - Difficulty will start out at a reasonable value so no one can get an unfair advantage
Sustainability - Parameters have been chosen such that TagCoin can survive well into the future
Services - Tagbond and TagCash are just the start of the ecosystem that will we be building around TagCoin
Transparency - Open Conversation and discussion with the founders and staff within Tagbond

A little bit about the parameters we've chosen. 4 minutes between blocks is a happy medium between speed and sustainability. Faster coins will run into many problems down the line, the least of which is blockchain bloat. As we intend to support TagCoin for many years to come, these are big issues.

Subsidy reduction has been rethought. Halving every X amount of blocks, like Bitcoin, is very unnatural and "shocks" the market every halving. Accordingly, we've decided to introduce a more natural reduction formula for Tagcoin. The subsidy will reduce by 1% every 3 months for the life of the coin. Additionally, there is a minimum block reward of 3 set in place, as to always encourage mining. Sustaining mining solely on fees is problematic; Bitcoin will have to deal with this somewhere down the line, but Tagcoin will not. Less than 100 million coins will be generated in the first 30 years before this minimum block reward has been reached.

Twelve retargets per day with a maximum swing in either direction of 25% will ensure that difficulty never stalls due to multipool influence. Many coins have had to issue a hardfork for this, so we'll just address it right out of the gates.

Approximately 300 blocks have been premined for the purposes of giveaway and promotion through Tagbond, and TagCash, and this forum.

Starting difficulty of 0.5 was chosen to ensure a fair launch with no instamine.

Is the 1.0.2.1 Binary available for Windows or Mac yet?  The Tagcoin site still has 1.0.2 for Windows, and a 404 page for the Mac client.

I hit 2 blocks today while solo mining on my Mac, but sadly the older client refuses to sync the block chain so it looks like those coins are lost.
