Need some help/useful links for Litecoin/Feathercoin GPU Mining

Hi,

I recently bought a R9 290 AMD Graphics Card and would like to use it for GPU Mining LTC or FTC, can anyone tell me where I can safely download the mining software (cgminer?). I am really scared to download viruses or walletstealers etc.

Well, it's like this: I have a bitcoin wallet on my pc although i use an 40+ digit password i am scared to death that i might lose it. When downloading the FTC wallet I olso almost shat my pants xD

Well, as far as I understood, there is cgminer and guiminer, wheras guiminer has a, the name says it, graphical user interface. So i assume it's much user-friendly. I dont have experience with consoles so I'd rather use a program with a gui built in.

But still, I have to configure it for mining in a pool, dont I?

Can you guys recommend pools for scrypt based coins? Right now on my radar there is FTC, Litecoin and Megacoin (is it a scrpt based coin?).

I'm thankful for helpful links and advice
