Every month starting now people can sign up for the BitcoinONE (bitcoinone.tk) lottery. People may apply to win anytime before the 27th day of the month. The winner will be paid on the 2nd day of the next month. The winner will be announced on the 3rd day of the next month when the application system is open again. The winner's reward is currently 2BTC or or 40% (whichever greater) of the total value of the collected money for those who made the maximum placement given that the total amount collected is greater than or equal to 2BTC. There are 3 payment options: 0.10BTC  0.05BTC and 0.01BTC. Those who give the maximum of one Bit Dime will receive the full amount if they win. Those who give one Bit Nickle will receive 1BTC or 22% (whichever greater) given that the total amount collected is greater than or equal to 1.3BTC if they win.  Those who give the lowest amount (one Bit Cent) will receive 0.50BTC or 11% (whichever is greater) given that the total amount collected is greater than or equal to 1BTC if they are selected as winners. As the administrator I will collect no more than 40% of the total collected amount (Normally will be 25%). 20% will be donated to a charitable organization via www.bitcoin-charity.com. The payout and the donation will be placed on YouTube for verification by the world. The remaining percentage of the funds will be kept separate for a bonus lottery in January, May, or September which will have no payment or fee associated with it. If the minimum amount is not achieved the placements will carry over to the next month and no prize, fee, or donation will occur. The winner will be chosen by a pseudo-random number generator. This process will also be recorded for YouTube. The rewards are moderate and the cost is low. **This is not your normal Mega Super Jackpot Lottery this is just a small charity lottery for those who want to loose little this is not a get rich quick scheme because nobody can get rich and especially not quickly, especially not the administrators.** This is why Google Docs and a .tk domain are used. WE DO CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOU PAY. Every 72 hours the money in the wallet is transferred to a second location which is secure and normally offline.

THE CURRENT SUBMISSION ADDRESS AS OF 07 AUGUST 2011 IS:

18j48qJii5Mgv6g5TzYpPgGxzmctBM5muA

(Machines rotated on random basis for security reasons, so the address will change at least once within a 24 hour time frame)

Partial refunds are available if we are notified within 24 hours of the submission via bitcoinone@gmail.com

By posting about us online you can get free bonus tickets. See website for further details.

You know that people don't always know what address they are sending from right?
Your form asks for the sending address. Most people won't be able to predict that.

Hmmm, 5%-20% is yours! Or is it 25%-40% while another 20% is donated?

We get approximately 25% of the total collected. 20% is charitable which is higher priority than our own earnings. The remaining percentage is set aside for the free super lottery which occurs in January, May, and September.

Breakdown of collected money under normalconditions in order of priority if a BitDime Ticket is picked:
40% winnings
20% charity
37% our keep
3% Free Lottery Fund

Breakdown of collected money under normalconditions in order of priority if a BitNickle Ticket is picked:
22% winnings
20% charity
25% our keep
33% Free Lottery Fund

Breakdown of collected money under normalconditions in order of priority if a BitCent Ticket is picked:
11% winnings
20% charity
20% our keep
49%% Free Lottery Fund

Breakdown of our keep:
65% Divided among Administrators
15% Funding for service
15% Donation to KIVA.ORG through bitcoin-charity.com from us (this is not to win people over, it does however make us look like good people. We chose to do this because we believe that the micro-loan system Kiva developed helps people progress and will one day strengthen the world economy.)
5% Put aside with the free lottery funds in a flexcoin account to achieve greater interest which is used for things that will not be disclosed in this particular post.

The super lottery is based on email identifiers. The number of tickets someone receives in the free super lottery is based on the percentage they pledge to give to charity via bitcoin-chairity.com . If they pledge to give 40% of their winnings to charity they get If they pledge to give 20% of their winnings to charity they recieve 21 tickets. If they pledge 10% they receive 14 tickets. If they pledge 5% they recieve 7 tickets. If they pledge nothing then they recieve 1 ticket. The purpose behind the super lottery is for a big donation to charity. The winner of the super-lottery will be given one half of the winnings, after the donation is confirmed publicly for the amount specified they will receive the rest of the money. If they take the money and run the lottery will end and will not be resumed for an indefinite period of time.

We have no intention of coming away with a large profit from this venture. In fact I somehow doubt that we will profit form this more than a few BTC.

Unfortunately yes we are aware of this and were at the beginning. I think most of the bitcoin community is aware of this however having this discourages newbies and scam-artists. It is a psychological thing. Our previous plan also involved checking time stamps repeatedly. We are actually changing our address with every purchase and we will be using Bicoin Evolution starting in about 3 hours. If no interest is displayed this month or next month and the lottery lacks sufficient funds to hold an event the funds will be returned to the submitter.

This seems like a good idea, but I think you need to rework your percentages.  Maybe if you could make this more enticing than the other charity lotteries, and no offence, but what makes this better than Bitlotto jr. (aside from the charity thing)?  If anything it's worse, my advice is to make charity optional, the max a person can recieve from the lotto should be about 95%+, and the tickets should have one flat price like .01 or .05.  Yes your intentions are good (I hope), but what you need to consider is that most people aren't that generous, even if they got the whole pot some wouldn't bother to take the time.  So, for some it's not about generosity its about their time, and if they think it's a waste they won't do it.  Tongue
