Current ASKfm is a hybrid between Content generation and Messenger with Anonymity being its key differentiator. We were not competing with features of other apps, social networks and messengers directly (Instagram, Facebook, Messenger apps), but we certainly were competing for attention of our users and space in their phones.
ASKfm 2.0 is about adding more meaningful content through incentivizing the knowledge sharing, and about adding the fun learning option for users. But as a conversation goes through Q&A format we might start to compete with existing Q&A apps like Quora, and e-Learning platforms.
So, the short answer about ASKfm 2.0 competitors would be Social networks + Messenger apps (Instagram, Facebook, What's App etc), Q&A (Quora etc.) and e-learning products (Coursera, Udacity etc). Please stay tuned for the detailed positioning schemes in the whitepaper.

Our setup is simple!

There are two sides to every question, someone who asks and someone who answers. Firstly, the questioner asks anything they would like to know; advice, feedback or an opinion on something in particular. Where the question is asked to a specific person, the questioner can offer a reward for a response, in the form of tokens. Once the answer has been given, the tokens are sent!

We have also rethought and expanded the existing Q&A mechanics to include the incentive element, as follows:
When User A asks User B (could be a celebrity or an expert), User A has an option to bid ASK Tokens. Being asked, User B can answer and receive a minimum of 0.001 ASK Tokens minus 1% platform commission. At the same time, User B may decline the bid from User A and offer his/her bid.

The maximum amount of the bid is capped by 10x of the ASK Token balance in User B's wallet. Thus people are motivated to keep tokens on the platform.

In Q3 of 2018 we plan to start the acquisition of power users and experts, plus blockchain integration for ASKfm 2.0.

In Q4 of 2018 we’ll present the first iteration of our internal currency and economy, introducing ASK token and starting its integration. The launch of minimum viable network will be conducted as well.

Besides that we’ll conduct various tests and third party security audits for the platform.
Further development is planned for 2019.
