I think we are seeing the first signs of how regulators and bankers will be trying to choke cryptocurrencies. It is unlikely that they will directly ban bitcoin or most of the cryptocurrencies. More likely, their attack on censorship resistance of cryptocurrencies will take place along two main vectors: https://getbitcoins.io/blog/index.php/2018/05/03/monero-privacy-coins-and-the-dog-that-didnt-bark/

Interesting article and sad news at the same time, but we really didn't think that we could get away with a full anonymity, right? Sure, it would be fun for a few years, but when the thing gets too mainstream, they will probably try to cut off the wings as soon as they can. But the crypto community is strong and dedicated, we will try to fight off these attacks and look for alternatives. We will prevail! Cheesy
