I think it is a bit ludicrous to compare prize per coin. It is not a fair comparison. Better is to compare price for 1/21million of future market cap, so since litecoin has 4 times as many coins, their "normalized price" would be 27*4=108, and for feathercoin with 16 times as many coins, the normalized prize would be 0.87*16=14.
EDIT: Proof of stake mining has to be treated differently though since it doesn't dilute you.
How can you predict price of single product, if you don´t know the end result (cryptocurrency market cap) or even timescale? Also no mention of inflation (six times higher in Litecoin, than in Bitcoin). Since I compare the fully diluted market caps, I take the inflation into account.

And that's the info I'm trying to get outta this thread. Which of these Cryptos will have those nice 'little/big' moves.
I just slaughtered my hamster and read the future in it's liver. It said Colossuscoin will be the next big thing!

I just slaughtered my hamster and read the future in it's liver. It said Colossuscoin will be the next big thing! Well Ok sure. But... I can usually glean some insightful information.. to make an educated guess on a good buy.

The best one it the one that has yet to be pumped. Pumped alts have only one way to go from now on.

I am pretty skeptical of most of the alts. The only alt with significantly better usability than btc is peercoin imo, because of the inflationary aspect.

I guess Feathercoin will be my next bet. Only because it's cheapest and I can get the most for the least risk.

FTC is second next to LTC for volume on BTC-e. its not a pump and dump, its an undervalued coin with a solid team backing it.

I like primecoins concept. Hashing for primes at least using all that computing power for something more productive.

My opinion:
It is foolish to invest in any clone coins. I won't mention them here. All you need to do is check their specs and realize they're Bitcoins with different parameters. You might get lucky, but that's all it is. Might as well throw money at a Roulette wheel.
I believe it is wise to invest in coins which provide something unique AND have a solid development team. I think the advice in this thread is pretty sound: QRK, SBC, ANC, CGB, NMC, PPC, XPM. That's about all I know of. There are so many in development that it's hard to keep track!
Investing in exchanges might be prudent as well (like CRYPTSY on Cryptostocks). Not sure why that one is performing lousy, however ..
Unfortunately, it is also prudent to invest in coins that already have a decent foothold but are lacking in the novelty department: LTC, MEC, etc.
Overvalued? Undervalued? No one knows.

i agree about those coins you mentioned, good list btw in terms of fundamentals based investment. but no harm throwing 1btc for high risk speculation on the other clone alts

We should be building services instead of speculating.
Think of it as building a house instead of guessing the weather.

People should have been building services and investing in the ecosystem of altcoins as well as of bitcoins even instead of just hoarding. Hoarding is worse than speculation in the long term even if it is the safest bet profit - wise. At least for the time being.
