I've been trying to reset my password for vircurex.com for the past week. Multiple reset requests per day, multiple e-mails to customerservice. Also sent personal messages to user "Kumala" here on bitcointalk.
That combined with today's announcement of interest being paid on deposits I HIGHLY recommend that you reconsider using vircurex.com.
This behaviour is highly consistent with the final grab before wrapping up and absconding with the funds.
It's too bad because it has been an upstanding service up until this point.
If someone from vircurex.com would like to explain what's going on I'm all ears.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's
computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be
reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

ya I'm not sure why they would want to pay interest on deposits. since the coins will just be sitting in the exchange. it doesn't make sense. any time i can't figure out how the money would make money it sends off alarm bells in my head.

I used to enjoy VIrcurex, but their shitshow of an IPO which was admittedly not as bad as McxNow's was still nearly a dealbreaker. Their being hacked a second time this spring was a dealbreaker though.

money is made off of exchange fees. yes. but how do they make money off of just deposits? since they're paying interest for deposits i want to know why they to hold my money that isn't being exchanged.
