Hi Everyone.

I need advice about hodl tokens. I bought some tokens from different ICO projects. And I received tokens in MyEtherWallet. Those tokens are based on Etherium(ERC20)

Here is a question. Where is the safest place, or the safest way to hodl those tokens? Since DNS server for Myetherwallet has been hacked, I don't feel it is safe anymore.

Any advice?

Thanks.
If you feel MEW is not safe to protect your token you should try Hardware wallet because this is more secured wallet in Crypto platform. But I suggest MEW is more than enough to maintain the tokens because more than 30 percentage of the users are use this wallet.

You can buy and use a hardware wallet to a safer Ethereum and Token wallets. However, if you don't want to release some money, then go for the Metamask. It is a sub part of MEW, but is more secure. Since, you wouldn't enter your private key. That will be harder to hack. But, even I use private key in MEW. I don't just use or input my private key often. Since I mostly just checking my balance, and ETH address will suffice.

The question is complex. If you have already used mew and security themes, you can now use everything to transfer to a hardware wallet.

Metamask is a good wallet to store erc20 tokens because they been doing this for long time and most of customer satisfy with that wallet. For mobile, i suggest to use Eidoo wallet because they have sercue and easy for using wallet.

If you are planning to hold those ERC20 tokens for long term, the safest way when to store those are in hard wallet like Trezor and Ledger Nano which are the most advisable wallets. If you can't afford buying those, you may use an ERC20 wallets that you own your private key like MyEtherWallet, Jaxx, Coinomi, Parity, Metamask and ImToken. So far, the wallets I am using and trusted the most are MyEtherWallet, Jaxx and Coinomi. Just don't put your private key on any of your devices. Right it down on a paper or save it to an external hard drives that is only exclusive for your altcoins.

Hardware wallet is safest way to hold tokens for long term.you can go with Trazor hardware wallet, It is best hardware wallet as per my personal experience and you can also store ERC20 tokens in this wallet. Trazor hardware wallet is the best hardware wallet to protect your coins from hacking.

If you are planning to invest into ERC 20 tokens for the long term, you should seriously consider buying a ledger Nano S hardware wallet to store all your ERC 20 tokens safely, it could also be used as an hardware wallet to store your bitcoin and many other popular altcoins too.

There are many different ways to keep your coins. Most common one is probably myetherwallet , it's a website in which you can store your coins online. Another one is hardware wallets and then exchanges. For me safest way is to keep them in a hardware wallet.

IMO, I think you should transfer the ICO token to ETH and then hold it long term by storing it in a hardware wallet like Trezor, Ledge Nano S, which is safe for the amount of your crypto prevent from being stolen by hackers. I think it is now the most reliable way to protect cryptos.

I propose to buy Trezor. As for me it is one if the better way to hold cryptocurrency. Also you may buy Ledger.

Calm down, mew is safe for now. You better get a hardware wallet such as trezor or ledger nano and then linked it on your myetherwallet account for a better protection against exploits but if you just cant afford to buy a hardware wallet then you can try creating a metamask account.

As people before me already stated, purchase a hardware wallet (Trezor or Ledger are the most popular choices) and transfer the tokens to the ETH address of the hardware wallet. You can still access MEW via the hardware wallet and be completely secure (as your private key doesn't leave the device).

I still believe MEW is one of the safest wallets. Just keep in mind how many users use it. Or buy a hardware wallet, it is best probably TREZOR.

Thank you for infomation, I will try trezor also.

You are right, There are so many phishing scas out there!! Thanks.

Personally, I think it's cold storage. I use Tresor's purse, which I keep in the safe. So no one can steal coins. Online wallets are often attacked, so I do not advise anyone to keep it there.

I try not to keep assets in exchange for a long term. Will use the cold wallet. Thanks.

MyEtherWallet is still a wallet that is safe. in the case of many emerging about MEW lately, I think not because the system is wrong because MEW is certainly already had a good protection. Phishing became one of the reasons the number of MEW who hacked and this depends on how we use it.

In my opinion, Myetherwallet is safe to store tokens, provided that when opening Myetherwallet wallet on the official website, because nowadays a lot of fake Myetherwallet sites, if we are not careful when opening it, then all tokens in MEW will be taken by others.
