You might want to have a look over here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0. Once your free from newbie restrictions you should be fine to post there, although I do advise you be careful as new accounts don't really have must trust so there are a lot of people who are viligant about scammer accounts.

Localbitcoins is great, but if you have a bank account and are over 18 I'd look into getting verified with Coinbase.
