I joined just a little while ago and I'm glad to be apart of the community. Hopefully I can find some great guides and tutorials on certain coins/miners. Hopefully it isnt too late to invest into it.

Hi to all the new fellows like myself  Smiley

Welcome to the forums everyone. The best tip I have is do tons of research before you buy anything

Good luck to you all. also If you want to mine look into CEX.io cloud mining I
have a link in my sig that goes straight to the site. No waiting for pre-orders
or paying ebay prices. I wish I had read about it when I first started. Instead
of buying 20 block erupters although I bought them for $11 and sold them
for $50  Cool   Thats all I got for you guys right now.

peace out gents

Oh and the bitcoin faucets will get you a little bit of BTC aswell. All you need is a BTC wallet and address.

Hi, i didnt want to create a new topic, because i'm a newbie too, etc... But i have a question.

I can buy a ATI 6870@55€ (like 60-65$, something like that), it'll be bankable? Actually, i try to mine lots of coins (ALF, IFC, GLX, etc..) with my GTX 570 but some problems :

-i can't play when i mine Sad
-200kh/s and 300w consumption is bad, right?

Thanks a lot Smiley

Don't bother buying a GPU to mine on, and particularly not an older one... you'll never make your money back and it will cost you more in electricity than you can mine (unless you mine scrypt based altcoins as you mention, but that's another topic). You're better off buying hashes on cex.io, or getting ASIC based mining hardware.

if you go the route of asics, you better have more electrical power than your house (unless you have a commercial grade electricity). it'll either trip your breakers once the mining is really hashing, or it'll just eat up too much power than they find. I've been a victim of this.

I dont want to go to Asic, i think it's closed for casual like me, i dont have 10000$ to spend in stuff.

But scrypt based is cool, and Srypt asic dont want to show up Smiley

It looks like traditional mining is not profitable these days. Maybe some shared investments or clouds ?
