I was about to send $5 to Anarchy In You Head via PP, but then I remembered that I'm trying to cut back so I don't trigger the 200 PP transfers/year.

So if someone will put $5 in that chip-in for me I'll pay 5BTC. Let me know before you do it so it doesn't get done multiple times.

I'm going to use this thread whenever I need this service and others can too.

Even better, I just emailed Dale and sent him a bunch of links to Bitcoin related sites. Maybe he'll like it and then talk about it in a comic or on his blog?

That was quick!

Quote from: Dale
I had heard of it but hadn't looked into it.  Now I have and I find it fascinating.  I'll start accepting them for donations and possibly some other things.  Seems like a good investment diversification if nothing else!

Oh, and I will even count donations toward the next comic.  I just have to figure out a reasonable exchange rate.

I pointed him to the MyBitCoin.com merchant tools.

Use mtgox's data feed or perhaps bitcoincharts.com.

The merchant tools allow you to put a BTC payment link on a page denominated in USD or BTC. Simpler than figuring out an exchange rate manually, I figured...

Just FYI, I noticed that there's now a Bitcoin donation option on Anarchy In Your Head. Smiley

I just used the mybitcoin link to send a donation. I didn't send the 5.15 it requested, only 2. Now it seems to not be acknowledging the payment. To complicate, I used mtgox, so maybe it didn't work at all. Does anyone know how mybitcoin reacts to payments of the 'wrong' amount?

Hmm, I don't know. Who runs MyBitcoin? It would be nice if you could leave out an amount and have the user enter it on the MyBitcoin payment page (like Paypal donations).

Yeah, for donations there shouldn't be an amount, especially if it breaks the payment. I'm sure the coins aren't lost or anything, but they never showed on the counter on the site.
