I've been trying to buy $51.50 worth of bitcoins since sunday but no luck cause of pretty much every websites requiring verification! And the other websites that accept cards with no verification required have really high exchange rates -.- Also, no luck with local bitcoins. I have a walmart money card with 51 dollars on it and i want to buy bitcoins at a normal exchange rate. Please, i won't scam because i read that paypal/cards are reversible but i really just want 0.05 bitcoins. If you are reading and have bitcoins to sell, lets please work a deal out.

I would recommend emailing your adult relatives, favourite teachers, etc, and seeing if one of them will do a private trade with you. If one of my younger cousins wanted to get into Bitcoin I would be so happy to help!

Try mining. Mine alt coins and trade them in for Bitcoin. Depending on your hardware, you could probably get 0.05 BTC worth before the end of the month.

I'd do it. Not sure what the going rates are, but Bitcoin is going to someday be worth way more than it is right now. So even though it may not be the best deal right now, it would have been worth everything in the future.

Nah, you're telling me with an investment of $50, he can get that much back in a month? You're a crazy hero member Oh, but wait... I didn't say anything about investing $50. Assuming the hardware he has lying around (his CPU, graphics card, etc) has a total speed of at least 100Kh/s (scrypt mining), he can make ~$50/month without investing $50. As of right now (at current difficulty), 100Kh/s will mine you nearly 1.5 LTC (a little over $50). You can trade those Litecoin for ~0.05+ Bitcoin. But to answer your question: No, I am not crazy. I've just been around for a few years and know a thing or two about making profits.

I only assumed that a teenager only looking to deposit $50 USD into something like bitcoin wouldn't want to damage his GPU mining hardware, in which I doubt he has.

You are assuming his adult friends and relatives actually have Bitcoins; how many people actually even know what they are? I have been reading up on this for 2 days and I still can't get my head around it, and I don't know anyone who uses Bitcoins to fall back on for advice or help.
