Hi guys,

This is my first post. Recently bought a Butterfly Lap miner, and now looking into buying more. Recently came across the Black Arrow website with promising miners.

Whats your opinion on them?

Hard to say, their listed address is Shenzhen China so presumably they manufacture and distribute end to end.

Add them on Skype, call them, email them, conduct as much due diligence as possible. I got burnt recently by a reseller (www.2ASIC.com) despite the company director being an established member of this forum. You can't be too sure.

http://www.blackarrowsoftware.com/store/about-us-en.html

Also they want a minimum order of 10 units for the 100 Ghash. Not a casual investment for many.

I know someone who put an order in when the minimum purchase was 4 (but don't take that as proof they're legit). They're pre-orders, begin shipping in Feb according to the site.

Hello everyone!
They didn't have that 10 unit enforced at the beginning, tried to order one with them, went for the BTC payement option (which they have removed since then; guess why, mine is as good as yours).
It specified that they would provide me with the address they wanted me to send it to. Never sent me anything besides an order confirmation with no btc address.
I gave them 1 week to return to me with the information and they never did so I cancelled altogether.
They don't even have a cancel button available, you have to type that in, in a ghetto chat window that's linked with your order.

They gear sounds promising, they are currently the best GH/s/W but their customer service seems to be lacking considering they are asking now for thousandS of dollars per orders...

You be the judge.

I called them and they answered.
But in the end I did not place an order.
The price looks great today but what if the don't deliver in time?

I got burned with BFL, since then I stay away from pre-orders.

Hard to say. Current situation is good feeding ground for pre-order scam. In the other hand some persons where suspecting KNC as a scam in the beginning. Black Arrow has very promising product in a paper, and February 2014 is quite close.  I have been considering buying from them but the lack of possibility for using PayPal or other solutions that will give buyer some level of protection if things go wrong have kept me suspicious.

Hi Seth,

I am still skeptical. I have paid for my order and it says its been processed, but noone has replied to my message. Apparently BA have been flat out with orders, but they have totally ignored all consumer.

Sounds like you took a huge risk!

seths7, I live near Hong Kong and I'm approx 2 hours from Shenzhen where their address is listed.
If you cannot get a confirmation from them I could make some enquiries and potentially visit their site on your behalf.
If you'd like me to investigate you can contact me by PM.

Comments regarding minimum orders and customer service. I am not affiliated with Black Arrow but I do own a business so I know a thing or two.

1.) The minimum order of 10 for the X1 is because they are now using a US reseller to handle the smaller orders. This is because it is a heck of a lot easier for them (The manufacturer) to ship in bulk rather then try to package each individual order.

2.) Regarding customer service: May of this questions have been answered by BA countless times and the repeat questions indeed do slow down customer service. Additionally people complain that they dont get responses to their questions but in many cases they are asking via an obscure message board thread. I assure you that any business has a hard time following all the possible ways people try to get in touch with them. These forums are NOT an official way to communicate with companines in general so dont get bent out of shape if you dont get a "reply."  Also thinks like Skype while nice are they are not efficient for dealing with the volume of questions the likes of which BA is getting.

3.) It is harsh but businesses are more focused on their actual customers first and not the general public. Thus replies to people that have already ordered will occur first and the rest as there is time.

In the end to help everyone out you may want to do some digging first before asking a questions because when you have multiple BA topics with some having over 40 pages of information the odds are that your question has been asked and answered multiple times. If it has not consider opening an official "support" request on the BA site and be patient for them to replay.

I have already paid for my BA equipment and I can tell you that they were very responsive to my questions and replied in an appropriate time frame.
