I recently posted some information that I have learned from selling on ebay.

I have had many successful transactions on Ebay.   I have won over a dozen "unauthorized transaction" cases against me as a seller also.
But I have lost a few too.

What I have learned is domestic buyers are much easier to deal with than international buyers.

But you can still receive seller protection when sending to international buyers.

Quote
Shipping to international buyers

If you ship to international buyers, be aware of a few things.
This is for mining equipment, paper wallets, etc.

You are still covered by seller protection, if you abide by the guidelines
If you ship via USPS you can not get tracking right to the door.  You will only be able to see if the item made it to the country of destination, but no further.   So you MUST use FedEx or DHL so that you can track the package all the way to the doorstep or you will not receive seller protection.
Do not send digitally, you MUST ship it to receive seller protection.  So for coin, ship paper wallets only (this is for both domestic and international sales)

I have a list of scammers at this link

How did you win these? I'd like to know how to minimise the chances of being scammed, especially for paperwallets, if you have any info.

First, you have to comply with all of Ebay's seller protection policies.  If you send the currency digitally, that does not comply.
If you send it via traceable postal mail, that DOES comply.
Read the fine details of the seller protection policies.

Then when the buy files a dispute saying  "unauthorized transaction", call up paypal, provide the tracking number, and insist on resolving the case ASAP.

I have only lost one case, and it was because I shipped internationally, and I didn't ship via FedEx or DHL, I shipped USPS.  Shipping internationally via USPS will yield NO seller protection.

Also, when you sell mining hardware on Ebay, a buyer can say  "Item is not as described", and they can pretty much manipulate the system and get free mining from your hardware, and then send it back to you.  It is NOT advisable to sell mining hardware on Ebay.

Couldn't the fraudulent buyer not just claim there was nothing in the letter you sent him? How can you cover against this? Will ebay and paypal accept info from the blockchain?

The blockchain means nothing to them.  As for the buyer claiming the item is not as described.  Maybe, but I have never had to deal with that in about 60 transactions.

Yeah, I'm all too aware of this. It's ridiculous. I don't really sell on ebay any more because of this and their rapebastard fees. Just gonna try sell shit for coins on here.

With all of that said, and I agree with you.  But I have been very careful and successful selling on Ebay.
I have had over a dozen "unauthorized transaction" disputes filed, and I won every one of them except two (I was wrong about saying only one).

The first case I lost was also an international case, I sent coin to someone in the UK, didn't send it postal service, I sent it digitally, and they won because I didn't have tracking of a physical delivery.

The second case I lost because I didn't use FedEx or DHL to ship to an international buyer, and sending USPS doesn't allow for tracking all the way to the buyer's house.  Sending USPS only shows that the package entered the country but it doesn't say what happens to it after that.

Using Ebay is still viable.  Just be very careful.

Use the ebay bidder management to block certain buyers.

I have a list of scammers that have done me wrong here;

http://xbttrades.wordpress.com/bitcoin-scammers-on-ebay/

If you sell on ebay, it would be wise to add all of those users to the list.
