Hello,

I watched the US Senate hearings on bitcoins a few weeks ago. My fear that the US and other governments would make it impossible to convert bitcoins to USD or other currencies were significantly reduced. It seems to me that they are just going to make sure that everyone in the US who wants to convert bitcoins to USD has to prove their identity, the same as for a bank account, and make sure they get their cut of the profits. Has anyone heard any news relevant to this? I would also like to hear your thoughts about the chances that the US government will try to shut down the conversion of bitcoins to USD for people in the US.

Thanks,

Mark

I don't think that this is in their interest because people will find alternative ways to exchange bitcoins. In person for example. But all the AML/KYC laws will be enforced for sure for bitcoin.
