People who missed the boat on buying cheap Quark conclude that means Quark is a Scam...therefore since Litecoin was once cheap and plentiful and I didn't buy it that means by the same thought process that Litecoin is also a scamcoin.

Yes bitcoin price pulls altcoin prices up but the recent alt coin boom is because many newcomers think of altcoins as cheap while they think that bitcoin is to expensive already.

I don't even like to think about how many thousands of LTC I traded for silver.   

Sure, silver will go to the moon some day.  Hopefully all the way up to the ~$30k/oz I effectively bought it for.   

But until then, I know exactly how Million Dollar Pizza guy feels (only without his compensatory fame/notoriety/pity donations).
