is there any reason i should not use multibit for cold storage on an offline computer? i have heard you can't sign offline transactions with it -- that's fine, i don't need that. i just want to be aware of any potential snags, update issues, etc.

thanks in advance for your help!

edit: also, i assume you can generate a wallet and address while offline, right? like with QT?

MultiBit can create a new wallet offline but it isn't really an offline client.
For an offline client you want to sign offline, copy to your online computer and broadcast it.

Mainly to keep things simple we haven't added this in (also Armory does a very good job at this so no point in reproducing their good work).

MultiBit HD   Lightweight desktop client.                    Bitcoin Solutions Ltd   Bespoke software. Consultancy.
