It's very hard to protect yourself from crash, it's mean you need to cash out or change to another coin before the price fall down, it will need a constant look at the price and high analysis to do that, for me the best way is to invest and aim for long term, we can't always predict correctly when will be the price crash, so we need to think price crash as the part of the investment game

The best way to do this is to put stop losses and find the right time to switch to USD. If we can find the right time to switch our funds to USD then we can buy more with our funds. But it is difficult to predict how the market will react in a crypto crash.
