A while ago, I was browsing the interwebs about Bitcoin and other coins, then I noticed a strange term and condition on a trading website.
After looking at more sites I noticed that the government had a large foothold in the economy.
These sites allow the government to track and manage who exactly owns a certain wallet and anything done with the funds inappropriately leaves you held account for.
The following was from BTC-e
BTC-e may be requested at any time to share trade data including, but not restricted to, emails, user transactions, and trade data by government authorities.
Cryptsy's Terms
in no event will the information you provide to Cryptsy be deemed to be confidential, and We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, register on the site, place an order, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, phone number.
These terms are the same on every exchange site that has conditions of use and if you are to be involved in illegal activities such as hacking or purchasing illegal material you will be caught out.
Make sure you only use addresses for trading and use different addresses for illegal activity that has no relation to you or your identity.
It doesn't look like a big deal, but I'll bet people are still getting caught up from the Silk Road takedown, where users were tracked by purchases and/or trading.
Unless planned, activity via internet and crypto currencies, however secure you think they are will make you be always caught out.
What do you think?
