Depends on what graphics card. AMD GPU's will be much better than Nvidia GPU's. See here for a list of graphics cards. You can then input the speed in megahash/s in this calculator

What he said. With the best single-gpu card out there (the radeon 5870) you could get when properly overclocked and tuned upwards of 1.7 BTC/week at the current difficulty.

Investing in a single GPU just too start mining is not worth it imho.

I get about 0.25 BTC/day with a 6970.

FYI, the Mining Comparison wiki page isn't useful except for general comparison. Insufficient information regarding OS/drivers/kernel/sdk is provided to reproduce many of the numbers quoted.

Well, it may not be an exact source of information but it will give a general idea of what a GPU could of will be able to achieve

If you can get a decent deal on some graphics cards then I think it's totally worth it. I only have an Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 which is getting me just shy of 40 Mhash/s. I'm looking to find a good deal on some 5850's or 5870's or anything in that range. I am also a gamer so even if the market is kinda blah, then I'll still have a great upgrade to my graphics while (slowly) paying off the hardware. Even though I haven't really gotten into serious mining yet, after all the research I've done, you may not want to invest into anything dedicated solely to mining until you know for sure it can be profitable. If you can justify the cost via other uses then totally go for it. (Not having to pay for electricity has its perks..)

Not a great one. Most worthwhile Radeon cards have been cleared out by this community already.
