perhaps the withdrawal was wrong (over available funds) and so i have a negative balance value in the cryptsy account, but the transfer is confirmed in blockchain.

What wallet do you use? If Multibit, go to Tools -> Reset Blockchain and Transactions.

Contact Cryptsy…

I had horrendous problems getting funds into and out of cryptsy,
IE not turning up despite it being confirmed over their required amount(4).

Unfortunately They're not very good.. but I trust them slightly more than some of the other exchanges.
