Don't want to sound insensitive, and its always sad when someone passes away.
But lets face it, he was really really old. May he rest in peace.

I mean he presented some award or something when we were at my wife's graduation ceremony, and that was almost 10 years ago. Even then I thought the poor guy looked warn out.

Apparently in Australia they didn't drop the flag for him...

Unlike in the United States and United Kingdom, Australia's national flag on Parliament House remained at full mast on Friday.

And Australia could be the odd country out in not lowering its national flags to half-mast as a mark of respect for the funeral of Nelson Mandela.

The Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet confirmed on Friday the Australian flag – including the huge one above Parliament House – was to be lowered for the funeral of a head of state of another country with which Australia has diplomatic relations, but not for the funeral of a former head of state.

However on Friday the flags at Downing Street and the White House were already at half-mast as a sign of respect for the death of the South African freedom fighter.

Is that the same Prime Minister and Cabinet having troubles recognizing aborigines' faith? If so I'm not surpised at all.

Well, he did live for a long time (he was 95).

I think he was a great man that changed history.
