I've actually been toying with the same idea, so I guess we are a pair of unoriginal assholes. Only issue I've run up against is the complete and utter lack of remotely affordable GPU's. I would love to talk in more detail about options, so if your feeling particularly ambitious, shoot me a PM when you get a chance and we can see what shakes out.

Trying to build up my GPU farm if either of you fellas know's of a good/reliable source for new or used 7950's, 7970, and/or 7990's
*Was considering the possibility of leasing how a subset of my available khashes sometime down the road once I got my farm large enough but I suspect it will be sometime before I feel it will ever be large enough :p

The idea is not bad as there are tons of shares of bitcoin miners that were sold or are still being sold here on the forum. However, the question with this as with them is one of trust and reputation. There are also questions of what type of environment the rigs will be hosted in, the price you'll get for the hardware, the uptime, how quickly you can respond to failures and resolve them, etc.
In other words if you're going to start what is essentially an IT business please outline your business plan.

The nice thing about Scrypt mining right now is you just buy a motherboard with the amount of slots you think you will want to upgrade too and then add on as you have the money. This is something you can't do with an ASIC machine because you can't piece them together.
I have had to do this due to 280x's not really being in stock anywhere.
This way you don't have to risk your money.

And most importantly GPUs have resale value outside the world of cryptocurrencies. Try selling your $10K ASIC miner if bitcoin tanks.

if you want some 7990´s I am selling some in my thread, if you could take more, can give you price discount. If interested check my thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=358960.msg3839971#msg3839971

Miner is currently running at about 1MH/s and will continue to do so until I get a pci-e x1 to x16 powered riser. If someone wants to send me one then you can have 40 shares

Solution to your spot mining: Open up CGMiner as always and use the following basic setup to get it running: cgminer --scrypt -o http://p2pool.org:9775 -u address -p password Note: address will be your Spots wallet address.

Right but when I go to spotsd --help I don't see a wallet address option (also I said the person to help me do it without using p2pool )
